Question Anyone testdrive the TSX yet?

I went to the dealer the other morning to take a look. I think the new TSX is a very sharp car. It has a very cohesive design and I especially like the way the wheel wells are filled it and the very classy detailing, from door handles to the dual exuast tips, wow! Just overall a very balanced and sporty car.

I really don't understand why the auto mags say it's boring Do they have something against Acura?? To me it looks just as tight as a 3-series. They said the same about my TL-S and to me it is beautiful.

I do have an 03 TL-S and am almost afraid to test the TSX. It might temp me too much. But curious to see what others have experienced.

Anyone test drive the TSX.

It will appeal to younger buyers.

Honda/Acura has a great youthful following with the Civic/Prelude/Integra market.

Those young buyers who would have immediately jumped to the TLS will be tempted by the TSX.

In my case, my zip around car was the Audi A4 and I needed the TLS to be a family highway cruiser. So no TSX for me but I think it will be a market bullseye.

I agree, but I do think this car will be a much bigger hit and they will have to make way more than 15,000 a year, even at $27,000.

I drove one Friday while waiting for mine to get washed after the tranny was put in.
Overall, it's a pretty nice car. I have to say, though, they are asking the full sticker according to the salesguy here. I don't know why, though...
I drove an A4 before. I'd buy an A4 before I ever bought a TSX and I could have one and chip it for less money. The 4cyl engine is wasted on this car. It has decent pickup, a little inspiring even, but it doesn't seem as evident as even a base TL. In fact, the way they are pricing the car, you can get a better deal on a TL for sure, and even get a TL-S for less than $2,000 more. Why get a TSX? Why? Just so you look sporty? Please...I think it will be a very small niche unless they change the engine on this thing in some way. It's simply too much money for what you are getting...Someone else said it here, you can get an Accord V6 for less...

I'll test drive one when i get my oil change in may or june.
I saw one park at the mall the other day and it was pretty hot with bodykit.
Just like the TL, magazines rate their style boring, plain, unattractive, and what not. But if you notice, you turn alot of heads on the road in your TL.

I just traded my '03 TL-S in on a Carbon Grey TSX. I had had the TL-S for about a year and after driving manual transimission cars for over 30 years I just wasn't adapting to giving control of gear selection to the transmission. The TSX 6-speed is more comfortable and more fun -- generally significantly more European in it's feel, and with typical Acura quality and reliability. What can I say, I'm glad I swapped.

I drive the TSX at my dealer a few days ago... One the one hand, it handled great, and was so comfortable, but on the other, the power wasn’t really what I expected, but then again I don’t think a TL-S has enough power so.... Also I was really displeased with the interior of the car. I’m super super meticulous about the interior of my car, and while the dash, wheel, and instrument cluster of the TSX is great, I think the seats, center console and door panels are totally FUGLY and did not have nearly enough attention given to them.

I wouldn’t trade a TL-S for a TSX, hell I wouldn’t even trade my '99 TL for one. Felt too much like a "downgrade"

Here is a recently sighting of a TSX in Toronto with OEM bodykit. IMO it looks might sharp! With new springs to close the wheel gap the car would look perfect

i test drove a TSX as well with my gf. great looking car up close. very sleek and well balanced. i also noticed that all the customers in the lot were there for the TSXs

some comments:
1. handles much better than my 2002 TL-S. feels tighter during lane changes and turns.
2. sportshift doesnt automatically go up from 1 to 2.
3. not as powerful as i thought. but peppy.
4. doors are solid. interior is tight.
5. looks exactly like a Mazda 6.

ill keep my TLS.

I'm with Darkshear: "downgrade" is the perfect word...At this point in my life, I can't fathom driving something slower than what I have or less luxurios. "Peppy" isn't in my vernacular anymore...

All I can say is that I like the Mazda 6 with the spoiler and side effects much better.

Yes the TSX is much slower than a TL-S but how is it less luxurious??

I saw the TSX at the NY Auto Show and interestingly enough, the TSX is made entirely in Japan. That should speak highly for the quality of the car. Did anyone notice any rattles?

Noam

I agree. I test drove one and you could easily tell the leather interior in the TSX was 10 fold compared to the TL-S(which I own). That's probably why the TSX has the 28k sticker....based on the car being fully built from Japan and shipped over.

Less luxurious in that at even 5'9", I felt cramped in the car. It didn't seem to have the same amount of room or solidness of the TL either...Unlike some people, I did like the perforated seats and their support, but the overall interior seemed Acord-ish to me...

I didn't notice any rattles either. The car did seem top heavy, though and my TL-S, though admittedly with suspension mods, seems as though it would outhandle this car...

Japanese(their people are short) cars are not made for tall people. I'm 5'7 and pretty happy with the TL-S. I went in the G35 and I hit the head on the way out.

We saw the TSX at the auto show and my wife who has a 2002 TL-S said she liked it but felt I it would be a downgrade for her from her TL-S. So we'll wait and see the 2004 TL. If Acura keeps giving Enterprise loaners though she already told me she might get the G35 coup or FX35. She has an Enterprise loaner right now while she's getting a new tranny and he hates it.
