Anyone not under warranty?
I was just wondering 2nd gen TL owners out there do not have Acura warranty and if you guys have ever gone back to Acura for anything while not under warranty.
Is it worth it to take it back to them or should I take my car to a local mechanic?

It depends on what you are doing. I had heating elements put in on my heated seats which was not working, and I think I would not trust anyone else to do it. I also had my rear view mirrors replaced (auto dimming not working). Again I would not trust anyone else to do this.
If I need an oil change, I would go somewhere. BUT my acura has a $29 oil change and starbucks coffee.

102k in my 99 so defintely out of warranty. Just like 2001TL4KCdude says: 'trust' acura to take care of the very specific details like heated seats but I personnally have taken my car to the dealer once in its life and that was for the belts, hoses, and plugs, in addition to the rear-view mirror replacement. Other then that, it has never seen the inside of the acura shop.

I have TL'00. No longer under warranty, I do go to Acura to get estimations, the local shops are much cheaper!
Acura: its a rip off an a half.
Example, they charged 100 bux to put the 3M tape on the sunroof to prevent the freaken noise. 2 mins of work.

I wish I had known acura would fix the problem with the siding on the doors (that black stuff that looks like a film thats bubbling) while under warranty. Now that my car isn't under warranty it will cost a huge amount to fix that (I think its supposed to be a PITA to fix).

2000 TL out of warranty. Acura are ripoffs. I only go to them if I have to, such as this Sunday, for the third time, because the stupid SRS light keeps coming on.
I had new rotors put on by my mechanic, as well as a full tune up. I fixed my own heated seats and get my oil changes done for 19.95 every 3500 miles.
