Anyone near me who can help...
I live in North Haven, CT
I just got my Tl, 99. I want to clear out the headlights as soon as possible. I pretty sure I can handle it, but if anyone lived close by that can maybe help me out or coach me throught that knows what they are doing, that would be great.

JohnnyB_S, where are you????!!!!!!
Hey buddy, I helped clear another member's lights last weekend. Just some advice I can give to you:
1) use silicon to seal the headlights back up
2) be sure to scrape out all that nasty dried up goo before closing the headlights, you want to give the silicon enough surface to get a good seal
3) be very careful with the chrome reflector. I've seen pieces of 'em break off . Also, try not getting them dirty or getting fingerprints in them either, that way, you don't have to worry about cleaning them out...which leads to my most important piece of advice:
DO NOT USE RUBBING ALCOHOL TO CLEAN THE CHROME!!!
Not that I know anything about it , but rubbing alcohol will wipe away the chrome in the reflector and leave you with a big white spot.

Taking off the bumper is real easy, and won't mess anything up. Just take your time and you should be ok. Also, clearing out your lights will be a time consuming task. Just be patient and work slowly and carefully. If you want to come down to Va Beach, I'd be more than happy to help you out.

Let me know when and I will drum up the boys (CBS, BadazzTL, JPritch, AccordV6er, and anyone else in the Hampton Roads area) for a mini-meet...
...oh yeah, don't forget to bring your lights :p
