When I had my Megans installed the shop let the exhaust hang under its own weight causing my heat shield welds to crack. I thought it was resonance at first but it turns out the heat sheild was vibrating against the cat due to the cracked welds. That heat shield is very thin and the rust ultimately turns it brittle.

Did you just have your headers installed? It may have cracked then.

Really its no big deal though. Its like a $30 part for a brand new one.

And while they are under there, have them check the rubber bushing inside your exhaust hanger. That rubber splits when it dries out over time.

Once they fixed my heat sheild and exhaust hanger I had no more noises, or what I thought was resonance. Turns out I never had 'resonance'.

You can just rip the heat sheild off, but be careful if you ever park in grass, especially if its high. :angryfire

it only happens around 2-3k rpm while accelerating. for me it sounds like a metal cricket, some people say it sounds like a weedwhacker hitting a fence

its the heatshield like i said before look into the RT or Magna Flow a direct replacement would be sweet if your thinking about a complete new exhaust system(intake, headers, cat, and exhaust)

They're Megan Headers----does the pipe go lower than the factory manifold? I hear alot of people compalining about scraping their headers on lowered cars.

^^^^^
Yes the megans have an extra flex pipe which in turn ends up sitting really close.......I know my flex pipe is already scraped off although the header was not compromised
