anyone experienced with the company PYLE?

hey guys,
a small shop near my house is selling headrest monitors.... i dotn trust him installing them, so i will get them installed somewhere else. But, he has these 7.2" TFT monitors and the company is PYLE... i told him ive never heard of it and he says its out there and the quality is good, and the only reason its cheaper than other brand names is cuz its still trying to build a reputation. Is anyone experienced with this company??? the guy is legit, and hes offering me a good price on the screens, just dont know how they are... anyone heard of it 'Pyle' ??

any suggestions would be good...
thanx

If you do a search on this brand, you will find out that they are sub-standard quality. I was looking at Pyle monitors for headrests too, and I was told by several ppl to stay away from them.

I know a friend that had (3) 10'' Pyle subwoofers in his car and he then sold them off to my other friend for about 100 bucks. They are about 2 years old and they still bump as good as before. I really don't know how good the company is but I've been in both of my friends' cars and they sound decent.

Pyle sucks. Friend got their mobile slot load dvd player. It doesn't play burned CDs. After a week it didn't even see the legit cd's that he put in it. It played dvd's probably the first week also, then it just wouldn't read any discs. He returned it, got a new one thinking it was just a bad one. The thing lasted 2 weeks this time before it stopped reading everything. I'd also stay away from Lanzar, Legacy and Pyramid. It just seems they all buy from the same vendor and slapped their name on that crap. You get what you pay for.

he is exactly right, dont waste your money. picture quality will be horrible plus 7.2 is too big to fit into our headrests, you will and up having to cut into the seams and trust me you will regret it. i have 5.6's they fit perfect.

Try and Post this in the Audio Section... you will get much more replies there...

And just like sony did, a bunch of companies have entered the car audio market in the past 10 years simply because they see a profit to be made, they buy "universal" stereo gear and put their name on it.. Trust me Pyle and Pyrmid do not have manufacturing plants for any monitors... amps and speakers maybe, but I have seen over 20 companies that use the identcial same cheap screens and try to pass it off as their own, by putting their logo on the trim piece..

honestly the subs and amps from companies like pyle will blow away your stock amp.. but will not touch any reputable brand name.. JL, MXT, Concept, Sound Stream, etc...

So for "your sister" who wants more bass in her car, but doesn't turn it up stupid loud, a pyle system would suffice..... but at the same time, no-one in their right mind would bring pyle into a competition... it's your personal prefrence.. I would rather buy a "used brand-name" than a "new no-name" when it comes to stereo equiptment.

repost this in the Audio section if you wan more info on the topic...

http://www.conceptconcept.com/prodca...&SubLine=Combo

This company Concept has been my favorite, by far, for years. Incredible quality, power, CUSTOMER SERVICE (they warantied an apm I bought off ebay from a former vendor of theirs) Every Concept product has a three year "no questions asked", warranty policy.. Just ship it out and get a brand new one back.... How can you beat that?

With my 99 S-10, a mid level Concept 12inch sub and a self designed custom box, I beat an identical truck with NINE PPI 12inch subs... I hit 141.X dbl... He didn't break 140... he hit 139.X dbl.. There's one testament to Concepts quality ....

Check out their "raw screen" section, there's a 30inch screen that's only 2 lbs, yes I said 30 inch!!

Oh and this thread should be continued in the Audio Section over in the Off Topic area.

residualfreedom.... standalone dvd players for cars should not cost $400... its 2006 almost... they should be pretty dirt cheap by now (even decent quality ones). I saw the half din concept dvd player for $400!!!! I dunno, just seems way too much to me.... any other brands that arent as expensive ($100-$150 range) (btw, thanks for the suggestion freedom, it is still apprecaited)

Here's there 1/2 din DVD player

and there is a ton of small "raw screens" to make the video as custom as you can think, too bad we need an airbag .

yeah... i saw that freedom... the price is $TBD, which means its probably gonna be even more than the DVP-500 ($379) since its even thinner. Any other brands u can suggest for a standalone dvd player below $200?

my buddy had the pyle din dvd in his CLs and it broke in a month. its a cheap brand that you find on jcwhitney, autozone, walmart etc. you get what you pay for. it has a reputation for short life and shoddy quality. like everyone has said, your tl deserves better then that.
