Anyone else get the letter about sueing acura?

I got home from school today and I sit down to eat dinner and my dad says to me "theres a class action lawuist for you against acura" Now I do not really know what that ment so I just sat there thinking "WTF did I do now". Well he explained to me whats going on and I read the thing so I was just wondering if anyone else got one?

Also the letter lists the 03 VIN numbers that have the extanted warranty.

yeah I got the same thing in the mail yesterday. I am not sure how My scenario will work with that seeing I replaced my tranny well after the allowed 109k that is mentioned in that paperwork. And even still that was at like 137k.. I now have over 142k which puts me further out of the covered range.. I think.

I will play it by ear and respond to the letter.. you never know what could happen!!

Get Used To It!!!!!

I got the letter too. if you're at 102k now, it'll only help you if your tranny would break down by 109k, thats the new agreement, should it be finalized. (or an additional 9 months from the original 7 yr powertrain warranty, whichever comes first).

I'm living in TX and also have that letter in the mail 2 days ago. I think I'm qualify for it since I got only 94K but so far, my trany is still quite and smooth. It seems to me that they're fighting to get an extend warr. on the trany to 109K and +7yrs.

Yup, I'm the original owner of 99TLnavi, bought in Mars/2000.

If anything this may give people a little more leeway (sp??) if you go over 109000 and have problems. Thats the way I look at it. Some people have been lucky enough to have them replaced well over 100000 on the current warranty extension, so this will help out at least a little. Although it would have been nice to see it extended to 125000.

It's all about the legal fees for the attorneys. The attorneys get about $10 million and the owners get a few more miles and months on the extended warranty.

It is all about a proposed settlement. The settlement increases the warranty period by 9 months and to109,000 miles for transmission defects. You don't have to do anything if you don't disagree with the settlement. You are automatically covered under the extended warranty when the proposed settlement is ratified in court.

It is not much but it cost us nothing. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it!

i think they should do 1year/25,000 miles..but i guess 9,000/9months is better than nothing

You don't have to be original purchase, you just got to meet some of the other requirement. TOO bad most of the 99-00 TL has over 109K alreally on it An extra 9K is no really NOT that good of a deal to me.

I received it but I'm a 2000 owner with 135K on the clock, so it does me no good. My tranny was replaced under warranty at about 98K (phew!) and has been reliable so far. This car is so close to getting replaced that the class action would do me no good anyway. I applaud Chris for taking it to 'em the way he has.

It's not only for original owners. I'm the 2nd owner of this car, having bought it certified from an Acura dealer, and registering it on OwnerLink.

I wish it was like a unlimited mileage/year coverage settlement, now that would be nice.
