Anybody with aftermarket shocks? Please help.

I read a lot on this subject. Main thing I was able to conclude is that if your ride is bouncy on rough roads, you may benefit from replacing your shocks.
My ride is not bouncy on rough roads, it is bouncy on undulating highways (no bumps or repairs - just not a perfectly flat highway). On rough roads, w/ lot of repairs and minor bumps, the car ride is stiff (harsh), but is not bouncy at all. The car goes down hard over repair patches.
Are shock my main concern here or not? Will I benefit from them at all? I was looking at Konis and Tokicos, but I'm afraid I'll just get a stiffer ride on rough roads and more bounce on undulating highways.

Anyones input is greatly appreciated.

I have the adjustable Koni's and love em. I ended up with setting them at almost the softest setting, like 2 on a scale of 10. Car is lower with springs. Ride is perfect, handling too.

From what I read, both Tokico and Koni are OK. Tokicos ride may be a little more softer, but they don't seem to last as long (reported blow-outs at 17K miles). Konis are of good quality, but are made more for people who race their cars. Ride quality may suffer some.

Can anyone confirm any of this?
