Another GTAer here, with an 03 TL-S. No mods really, except for NGK platinum plugs and a drop in K&N. I don't really consider these mods...just some upgraded housekeeping.
I plan on tinting my windows and possibly a Comptech or AEM cold air intake when the weather warms up. Or, I might cheap out and just remove the resonator box on the stock intake.

There we go ... someone always has to be hatin' on Windsor. I suppose if I came from GTA (aka "the centre of the universe" ), I would not be accustomed to the change in environment.
I lived in downtown TO for 4 yrs ... fine when you're young but once you start to settle down, I am so glad I don't live there now (ie lower pay, higher standard of living, who wants to deal with worse commuting? -- no thanks).
One thing about Windsor -- you have Detroit for the big city things. Detroit Autoshow, Red Wings (sorry -- Maple Leafs = losers since '67), Pistons, better shopping and lower taxes, Motown, etc -- and not have to worry about crime. Just a 20 minute commute and you're out of downtown.
But I will say I like visiting TO when I get the chance...

i dunno i kinda like windsor, it definatly has its boring moments but so does any town. Me and my friends realy enjoy partying on oulette street caus theres soo many bars you cant go wrong and unlike T.O drinks are always $2 and never cover. Plus as derrick said detroit is right there for everything windsor is missing.
The shopping over there is great was way better when the dollar was at 1.12 last year but even 1.15 is ok cause the tax in MI is only like 5% I always pop over for the american sales because they discount way more than over here. I dont think i could actually settle down in windsor though seems like their job market has gone to crap since GM/Fords financial woes. Still a cool place to party though and the renovations to the casino should make it much more entertaining, now that its branded caesers i think it will be better, the renovations that have been completed so far look great!

tn7 haha i've got my TL there, my avatar is actually in the casino parking lot lol.... I'd never go to chatham the fucking cops there are brutal my buddy got a speeding ticket for doing 115 on the 401, thats totally a BS ticket. Chatham just really pisses my off for some reason, i think its due to the egos of some of the people i have met from there.

haha ya i realised when i saw ur AvATAR., can see the casino fountain lighting in the background heeh... yes i remember that parking lot.. kickass...
and don't get me wrong derrick... windsor was great.... but it got soo boring... (since i was studying there, didnt' have my ride.) .... as for settling down. .seriously i have thought about it many many times.. and i would settle in windsor anyday.. peaceful, quiet, u can buy a mansion for the price of a regular home in Toronto lol....
i even worked at hte tim hortons and got to know the Casino staff.. that was fun....they tipped soo well. *sigh*
and yes detroit is great.. (and ya the pistons are great but i stiill support the leafs... i grew up near maple leaf gardens so cant' hate u know ) ...
as for shopping. .ya its fun, taxes are less.. but i heard , they are gonna be asking for passports soon.. which is gonna suck since i never carry that on me... but its all good...
i might be visiting windsor soon. so i'll let u guys know.. maybe we can have a meet...
and last but not least, cHATHAm is bs.... i know wat u mean... my fastest time to toronto was 2 hours and 15 minutes... that was fun.. i was averaging 180km/h.. this other rude in a passat v8 was giving me company til he had to CONSTANTLY gas up .. (hahaha) but ya... i usually drive normally til i pass chatham.. and after that.. i just gun it... stupid cops hiding behind the bridges... do Radar detectors work here in Canada? ... as in... do the cop cars constantly have them on so the radar detector would work? i'm not sure how it works here.. since i always thought the cops had to manually turn them on in order for the radar detector to detect them.

not sure about the radar detectors, but i've definatly considered it for going through chatham. my best time is 2:45 but that's from windsor to aurora which is a little north of T.O its exactly 400km door to door for me so i was definatly flying as well hahaha

good stuff.. i did it on a sunday during a long weekend so basically no cops... they usually stick around for the beginning and the end of a long weekend when ppl rush..... mine was from windsor to york uni.... just a lil north of the highway.. not bad... really needed to see the ex lol....
so the casino is being renovated eh.. interesting... i always enjoyed the FREE BUFFETS they used to give when u invite a person to get the casino card lol... hahaha.. that was jokes.. the buffet is crazy still...

BTW another GTA'er here
as far as radar detectors go I think the OPP have a detector that can pick up the radar detectors signal and mainly use it on the stretch of the 401 between windsor and london so be careful

I live in Ajax, Durham region which is about 20 min east of downtown.
I just bought my 99 3.2TL, its bright silver adn only had 49,000KM on it. I plan to do a nice system and rims. I am also looking for the stock skirts but I am only coming up with some rediculous prices.

You guys are nuts on the 401. Mind you, I've done Morningside to my house (10 km south of the Ambassador Bridge) in 3:15, including a McD's break south of London. Me (in my mom's 89 Volvo 740 -- before the TL-S), Audi A4, and 318ti gunning all the way home.
And don't use the radar detector -- if you have Ontario plates and get caught, there's pretty much nothing you can do if the OPP decides to tow your car and strip it apart to see what other illegal things you might have inside (ie drugs, guns, etc). Drive smart and slow down before the overpasses.
Lastly: Michigan sales tax is 6%. I just checked the receipts from shopping I did yesterday there.
