I thought those cars were supposed to be fast.....
14.5 seems slow.... what is the "normal" 1/4 on them??

Let's say he was going for 1/4 times without all the weight
of (cosmetic) boltons....
What would it be good for???

Most run around 15.0 stock; I ran a 14.5 with my bolt ons after not prepping the car or anything. All crap in the trunk, etc...I bet I could maybe run 14.2xx tops, but what do you want from a fwd, semi-luxury sedan?
I think joecoool ran a 14.0 or a little into the 13's with a 75 shot and an intake only...
The two guys times I've seen with the supercharger were a best of 13.7xx, again without prepping...
FWD traction is a bi+ch and a 13.5 is gonna be about it for most of us to ever strive for...

what benefit does the pulley replacement provide?
How much/how tough to do it?
Do you need any mods to go with it, like H/E?

No flames intended...
I happen to have a 99TL as well and find it REALLY slow...
And yes I have an 01 T/A with the usual boltons and it will absolutely destroy it...
I am just surprised that the TLS's are not faster with bolt on's..
Traction is a big problem for my T/A as well...Off the line,it will just spin...

T/A runs low to mid 13's..
Again, traction is the big problem with street tires...

A guy with a big, bad Pontiac GT ran a 12.91 (yup, quicker than your T/A) but he blew his motor at the end of the strip and they delayed abotu 10 minutes cleaning up the track. My Acura ran flawlessly again and again...

So the tranny problems on our TL's are just a inconvenience?? Right....

a stock tl type-s is suppose to run a 14.7. but that is probably ideal driving conditions(weather, climate). a professional driver who went to school to test stock cars on a closed track, and run after run after run. im sure that guy ran a few 15.1 15.2 before he hit 14.7 once or twice. i dont wanna burst any bubbles, but i actually hit that 14.6 before the rims. but i did have my air cylinders and air tanks which im sure weigh a lot. it was also my first time ever running any car at the track, so i know if i had the track all to myself, (dream come true) i could have beaten that time. someone asked earlier about prices, i paid 3200 for the air ride installed. and 500 for the custom dash without any of those parts.
