Any TL P broke 14 sec?

I recently started modding my 99 tl p and I am trying to get my lil car to break 14 sec or atleast be in the low 15 sec in a quarter mile. Anyone done that without nitrous or a turbo charger? I know it's gonna be tough. I currently have a aem cold air intake and megan headers. I've been searching and I don't think I have seen any tl p breaking 14s. By the way before people start telling me get a type s, let me say, if I could have I would but, I can't so i'm sticking with what I have.

With headers and aem cold air intake on my 4sp 99tl, I should be pulling 15.2 to 15.1 than right? I hope so, I never been at the track yet. 15.0 for me would be awsome. I wish.

search for the intake resonator removal thread, it is very simple to do. There are two resonators to remove and it basically makes the intake louder but gives you no more power. As far as straight pipes, any muffler shop can remove the two exhaust resonators which will also make the exhaust note slightly louder and deeper but it wont make any power difference.

well its never been dynoed. but it would almost have to give some hp due to alot less restriction for the air to get to the TB

You dont have a resonator to remove due to another thread stating that you put on a cai

Is your question important? people mod for what ever reason they want, most of us do it because we want to enjoy a car more fun to drive.

The last time I was with Chuck at the track he ran a 14.9 with I/H/E/P with a 99 or maybe a 2000 Tl-p (can't quite remember it's been a while).
That's what I am going for with my 02 Tl-p with I/H/P

i have intake, headers, exhausts, crank pulley, port&polished intake manifold, and other little minor engine treatment or mods on my 99TL. i ran 14.9, which was my best and my worst was 15.21, which was on a humid day. so you should be pulling 15 flat without a problem too.

Thanks Resi. You are right I was not criticizing. People loose prespective on what's important. doing mods is fine but people get obsessive over unimportant things. For a street car, 1 second is just that
