Any tips on buying TL S Type using internet sites?
After doing some research, I am ready to buy a TL Type S with nav, aegean blue. I am assuming I could get one for $30,500.
I bought my last car in 1992 and recall it was a pain to go through purchasing process despite how much preparation you do.
Has anybody here bought a car using internet? I tried CarDirect and all they sent me was a dealer contact near my home address. (I live in the Los Angeles area).
Sorry if this is a generic post.
Keep doing your research. You will not get the car you want for $30500. The invoice price of the car is around $30430. There are a lot of posts here on this site from members that bought TL-S's and the price paid. Do a search.
If you get one for $31500, you are getting a good deal. Most of the great deals seen here have been around that number, plus or minus a couple hundred.

And I don't think you'll get the best price going throught the internet. I recommend a "fax attack". Again, search the boards over the last few weeks and you'll find tons of info on how its done and what to expect.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Internet shopping is no longer the bargain it once was, I found on many sites that Internet retailers are now offering cars at prices HIGHER than MSRP. Fax blast is the better way to go, but for this to work, you need to offer a realistic price. In the case of the TLS, that means around 4% over dealer invoice.
Tagg is right, $30,500 may be a good price for the TL-S w/o Nav, but $32,000 is about as good as you are going to get right now for a TL-S w/ Nav.
The fax attack is a good device if you have a lot of dealers in your area, but Acura isn't exactly well represented anywhere other than the top 10 cities, and of those, the coasts seem to have the most cars and are most willing to deal.
The deal I just struck last week was $32,000. That took several e-mails, and I will have to fly to the coast to pick up the car ($275 airfare). I got a good deal on the extended warranty too, so I ended up getting $2,000 off MSRP. I have a very good friend on the coast, so I'll write it off as a vacation.
Patience, tenacity and a willingness to travel are the keys to saving money on this car (if you live in the Midwest). BTW, Internet sales sites are quoting MSRP, and they add a service charge. Brokers offer a better deal, but they charge a fee as well.

Internet prices aren't comparable to what you can achieve with only a little bit of work at the Fax and Email attacks
I've gotten 5 calls in 2 days since I made my F & E Onslaught, and most of them start off with a price under 30K for a TL-S w/o navi, and all of them give me a deal in the 29K range once I give them some grief about losing the sale because someone else has them beat on price already
So, 30,500 is OK without navi, but you can do better

I tried the internet sites before an they didn't really offer any good deals. So I use the Fax Attack as people suggested here.
The best offer I received was $31,380 for a Type S w/ Nav. Adding Spoiler + Mud Guards + Wheel Locks + Trunk Tray brought that up to $32,180.
I doubt that if you'r going to find something under 31K. The best price I've seen so far for a S w/ Nav is $31,200 (bluefrank and thephantom).

I bought mine through the internet and I got my TL-S with Nav, mud guards, moon roof visor, wheel locks, and all season floor mattes for $31,200... that's right when I walked in the door. The whole process from researching and signing the papers took 6 days. We just bought my girlfriend's car through the internet as well, a 2001 Corolla and she got it BELOW the invoice with all the options she wanted.

I used them all, I can't remember which one I actually bought my car off of. Try these for starters.

send me an e-mail and I will send you the instructions. Can't promise that you will get the lowest price like I did but it could only help.

For your reference if you are in the NJ area, last week I saw 2 TL Type S - AEGEAN BLUE on the lot. They could have been accounted for already, but they looked sweet.
There still is a shortage of TL TYPE S out there, so dealers will most likely not budge from MSRP. Best way is to try to work it off your trade in if you have one to offer.
