Anti-Photo License plate cover
Hey guys,
I'm trying to locate an anti-photo license plate cover. These covers protect your license plate from red light cameras. They make the letters and numbers unable to be read at certain angles. I've found a few online but they're expensive, around $40/piece. Does anyone know, where I can locate these things for a reasonable price? It doesn't have to be the whole cover, it can just be a strip that you slide into a regular license plate cover that serves the same function. Any links and input on this would be appreciated.
Here is an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/anphotplatco1.html
Thanks

If you would like I bought them off some1 in Canada for $20 last yr. They are awesome. OnTrack is the company. http://www.ontrackcorp.com/
The one I got was the Super Protector which blurrs from all angles... Whats good about this protector is that if your looking at it from directly behind you can see the numbers perfectly so if you get pulled over the cop can still see the numbers...

are cops actually trained to identify how these covers look like? or do they take it off and look thru it and see if everything looks distorted thru the special plastic or coating? what if i just have a regular plastic cover to keep the license plate clean and the cop says i have a anti-photo one? i'm sure it looks like anything else unless it says "Photo Buster" right on it! cuz if cops can't tell you have an anti-photo plate cover, then you'll never get caught and they'll only be able with an image of your car if they wanted to find you.

I seem to recall one of the major TV networks doing a story on this earlier this year. The conclusion was that they are a total waste of money. A number of different covers were tested and in each case, the camera was able to record the car's plate number.

I got pulled over a few years back and I diddnt have one of those photo blockers it was a tinted liscense plate cover. well to make a long story short My liscence came back suspended because I got a ticket in virginia and they nevered bothered to tell New York DMV that the ticket was paid and cleared, got arrested and questioned and all because the liscence plate cover is illegal in new york, clear, tinted or any cover. So before you buy the cover check with your local DMV or police station. It didn't really cost me anything because once I showed the judge proof of payment I got my bail money back and everything got cleared, but the time and aggrevation it cost me was'nt worth it.

Matt, you just beat me to it.
In Mass:
-Number plate must be clean and legible
-Not obscured in any manner by any device
-Plainly visible from a distace of 60 feet
It's a $35 fine, but you'll find that you get stopped pretty often. I don't write many citations for it (mostly warnings) but do stop many cars for it. I'm sure other states have similar laws and have police officers that act similarly.
Just my $.02
