i know there is a problem but trying to get a idea if its something serious or could it be minor it just started doing this at slow speed or at a light hit the gas nothing for about 3 or 4 seconds but at high speed no signs of problems changes gear as normal this happened about 5 times
had it checked but all was good right now no lights or codes they said to keep driven until it gets worse then bring it back
did yours just die on you or did it take time i don't want to get stuck but right now its still running good

Well the same thing wa happening to me except I had shudders sometimes . I brought it to the dealer and they recommended and said a transmition flush would fix this problem . Turns out 500-800 miles it locked up on me on the freeway and all my gears died besides 2nd .
$2500 part number #%rebuild trans
each gear has its own set of clutch packs. 2nd and 3rd are the worst for us
they also share gear shafts--example 2 and 5 so when part goes so will the other gear
the clutches keep the trans engaged--when they wear out- you get delay as it searches for grip
Its worth draining a 4 oz atf sample and send to blackstone labs for 25 bucks, to know whats happening inside for sure--bad particles or just crud
there is a chance you can run some new fluid, and clean the selenoids/pressure-shift things
If they are clogged it may help engage better
BUT
DO NOT go to the dealer or a trans place= and get a full power flush!!
too much new fluid -under pressure- with its cleaners, can dislodge remaining crud thats keeping any grip at all!
Im sure the trans shop said keep driving it~
see threads on accord trans swap for a 1500$ option to rebuilding yours

when cold: does waiting 2 minutes in P before shifting to R or D, make it better?
If going to N and back to D helps it--you may be able to save whats left with some new fluid and maitenance- no guarantee of course!
I would do the `blackstone labs` test asap and proceed based on their reading

No point dumping 50 bucks of fluid into something thats got way too much clutch particulate matter in the fluid (example) = known trans death around the corner,,,

did you ck fluid level per book- 15 minute freeway cruise from dead cold- no city stop and go -
level needs to read BETWEEN the dots. not at either at that temp--between
how long between changes of atf for you? ever?

took it to AAMCO
because after they check the car by driving it they basically had an idea of the problem should be about 1000$ i assume a little more but now its apart they showed me all these parts that supposed to be bad i don't really know but now they want 3200$ and that's with city employee discount that's B.S. if i knew that the car would have sat for a while i'm still driving so i said forget it and now have to pay 700$ to get it back that's their labor i priced other places for a lot less for a rebuilt tranny
