Another sunroof rattle issue

My sunroof has had this rattle or rubbing sounding issue. It sounds like rubbing styrofoam together, I've lived the seal with silicone lube and it didn't help. i think it is the sunshade but idk, what are the current remedys for the issues that have been addressed? Every thread I look at doesn't have any good information

There was a "recall" on the sunroof years and years ago...

The solution was to bring the car in and have them install some anti-squeak tape around the inside perimeter of the sunroof opening...

Fixed it really nicely... Looking at the tape currently installed on my car, it looks like it should be replaced...it's been on my car for well over 10 years... Still does a good job of eliminating the noise though... Just looks a little cracked and yellowed (which doesn't matter since you almost never see it...

Would you be able to take pictures of the tape placement? My car's sunroof rattles like crazy and never had the tape applied! Thank you so much!

I usually go in with silicone spray and spray everything. The pull shade also rattles when its locked in its full open position on my car.

Sure... I have my car here at work with me, so I just ran down and took a picture for you! As you can see, the tape is cracked and worn...it was installed probably 10+ years ago... I bet it was installed in 2003 shortly after I got the car... I remember hearing the noise and bringing it into the dealership pretty quickly after buying the car...

The tape goes around the entire perimeter of the inside of the moonroof lip... Even though it looks bad...it still seems to be working... My moonroof is silent...

Hmmm... The photo is showing up for me... Can others please chime in and let me know if you can see the picture?

I am hosting the photo at TinyPic...which has never had an issue before...

In any case, here is the direct link:

Found the TSB for it: "www.acura" + "world.com" + "/tsb/2000/B00-032.pdf"

Acurazine wont let you post links to that site, so just combine the url without the " 's.
Or google: "Service Bulletin 00-032"

I just saw that too . I think I'll try electrical tape first. The Honda tape looks fairly flat from the picture

Here's an alternative to the Honda squeak reduction tape and the price is much more reasonable:
