Another Heated Seat question...

On a 2002 TL-S, the DRIVER"S seat, is there or is there not a heating element inside the lower section (lumbar) of the seat back. Only the seat bottom heats up on mine. I know there is NOT one on the passenger front seat because of the side air bag, but what about the driver's seat?
Thanks

Check the thread `fixed heated seat for $3`

Has anyone ever been able to do a mod where they can get heated seats functioning on the passenger side?

I believe they meant full coverage lumbar and butt~
Only way to do it would be remove/disable the passenger airbag system
and install a top section heating element- Note acura gets big $$$ to buy the complete element pad--it looks like an electric blanket for the bed, cut to fit the seat

The reason is not about cost savings- its about life saving!!
Passenger seat has the OPDS which tells if your drunk buddy is leaned against the glass or has the seat layed way back or if a small child is in front seat
Its done by weight distribution calculations--

That disables the side airbag so as not to cause severe injury or death to the passenger~
If their head were against the glass- the deployment of the bag would snap their neck

lol, ok I phrased that poorly. I meant getting full heated seats working on the passenger side, just like the driver side.

I know there's an issue with the airbag sensor and all in the passenger seat... I was wondering if anyone ever figured out a way to get around that.

Well that's quite the dilemma..good thing my fiancee likes the heat.
Now to get mine working. It's starting to get cold here in OR and my nuts don't like the freezing leather in the mornings. Maybe I'll fix it during winter break..but most likely in the spring

I've seen aftermarket ones and even thought about installing them in the back seats... I just wasn't sure if it's possible to install aftermarket seat warmers without compromising anything in the car.
