What's going on NSX Pilot. I raced a 3.5 about a couple of weeks back. Here in Los Angeles there are plenty of those to toy with. To tell you the truth, I was impressed by the prowess of that car. It is quick indeed but I still left him behind. It was pretty close though. All I have is a TL-S with a custom intake and lowered....I beat the sh** out of it on the corners though, but straight was dangerously close....I hope that will give you a point of reference.

The new stick altima is one hell of a fast car but the interior is a totally different story (IT IS NASTY!).:yack:

I drove an automatic a while ago. It had very responsive acceleration, much like the TLS. I don't know about handling because I really didn't take it for much of a test drive. The interior really turned me off though. It looked and felt very cheap.

Very close in straight line and cornering, it all depends on who gets the jump at the line.

Aight check it
I was lookin at the 3.5 since it came out. i even learned how to drive stick cause i was gonna get it. It's a 3.5 Liter Stick shift, for 24K fully loaded if you know how to work the dealer. The auto is alright but again the interior....Now the Stick shift does 0-60 in 6.2. Your gonna tell me that ain't fast. But the cars really big and bulky lookin, unlike are cars. a few of the things that gave me the TL over the 3.5 where the tiptronic which i really like, cause u can drink coffee or eat or smoke or talk on the phone or whatever w/o having to shift, the wood interior looked so much hotter in the TL as well as the rest of the interior, the high rear end on the altima is ugly, and the fact that were was more aftermarket out for the TL-S made it much easier. But don't knock the Altima, It's a dope ride.

i too was very much interested in the altima because ive always had a manuel transmission and felt that a tru sports car should always be manuel i could have lived with the inferior interior but a equally equiped altima was almost the same price as a tls and after seeing the ebony interior of an acura ,,,,,well i said lemme try this sport shift thing and see how i like it.......but after having the car for five months,,,,,i dont like it and hope that acura will start offering a manuel again on there big sedans.

I drove it. A 3.5 auto. Yeah it is fast but with no limited slip diff, the front wheels spun out. THe car kicks in after 3500rpm, like a turbo, not really smooth. It is very spacious on the inside and feels that way. The doors feel like tin and the leather feels like plastic-wrap. The interior is plain ol horrible.

You get what you pay for I guesss. 27k loaded, no way in hell I would buy it. Maxima is much, much, much better.

I dunno... After having both Altimas and Maximas as rental cars (and seeing how cheap they BOTH felt), there's no way in hell I'd buy either one!

One of my colleagues has the Altima 3.5 SE automatic. I happen to like the looks of the car. I know others have issues with the exterior look, but I think it's well done. I have not driven it myself, but my colleague likes the low-end grunt and feels it "goes fast in a hurry". I'm not sure why he didn't opt for the Maxima, I'll have to ask him. He offered to race me...LOL, my 50-something department director offering to race his 33 y/o junior colleague!

As for the TL or TL-S in manual, it's appealing but I could never buy it because I need a car my wife can drive in an emergency (which is the only way my wife, as much as I love her, will ever drive this car ).

As a reference, one can get the 3.5SE for about $32,000 Cdn. The Maxima SE is about $36k, and the TLS $42k.

I'd let mine drive the TL-S....and opting for the 350Z.

Believe it or not, I haven't seen a 3.5 Altima yet in Nasvhille and it's a pretty large city. Not one 3.5 has come across though. It just makes sense that most people wouldn't pay so much for an Altima when there are better options available for a couple more grand.

Manuel

Hey maybe that's the guy who designed the transmission and it is named after him

Like Yenko, or Hurst... Maybe Getrag is someone's name too.

If I could get one for free I STILL wouldn't take it! That's how bad a car I think the Altima is!
