for all nighthawk black tls
i happened to get stuck wid a color that is very difficult to clean, but yet so beautiful when its shiny(nice blue effect in the sun)! i have spider web effect all over the car, anyone have suggestions to remove this? i also happen to live in the most weather damaging enviorment, jersey=sucky weather!
I know what your talking about.
It is just a hard color to keep clean but when it is its beautiful. First thing never take it to an automatic car wash even in the winter. When you wash it try to use 100% terry towel or cloth made for car wash & wax.
Some will say they are 100% but they are not.
There are some swirl removers on the market.
Here is Meguiars web site www.meguiars.com
they have a paint care form to fill out & they will give you tips on this problem. Zaino is another product that has tips on this problem. I have not used there polish yet but used there wash & gloss enhancer.
This stuff works great on the car.

Black is really hard to keep clean....that's why I didn't buy a black car
got WDP.
But, I agree with the above post about never taking your car to an automatic car wash. It will scratch the hell out of the paint.
You're probably going to need to do at least a full 3-step detail on your car to get rid of the spider webbing and to keep your car protected. The meguiars site will help you with this. The only thing I would recommend other than what Meguiars says is to use a clay bar instead of a Fine or Medium cut cleaner. The clay bar is awesome and works better than the cleaners. Then you are going to need a polish\glaze to remove the swirling\webbing. Finally you will finish up with a coat of good carnauba wax. Check out www.autotopia-carcare.com for details\ instructions on caring for your car...they have great info...good luck!

I would agree with others, NEVER take the car to one of the automatic car washes that have brushes. I would recommend meguiars also. I just waxed my car on sat and used the 3 step wax system and the car looks great. Take your time and it will turn out great.

Black is the shiznit when clean and no color can beat it. Anyway, here are a few tips:
1.Use either cotton chenille pad which draws in dirt away from you car. Any always wash it after each wash. Washing is probably the most neglected step.
2. Use quality products i.e. Some meguiars, Pinnacle, One grand or Klasse.
3. Never go to automatic wash unless its touchless.
4. Check out autopia-carcare.com! You will get schooled on how to keep your car looking its best!
Hopes this helps!

I just bought a 2400 PSI pressure washer to blast off the dirt before i wipe any kind of wash mitt across the paint. that will eliminate the scratches you speak of. then you need to buff the car i use Meguires yellow #26. i also use a waxmaster 900 random orbital buffer. you can get a buffer like this at any automotive or target store. they cost about 30 bucks. this is a low speed buffer and will not harm the paint at all. i was amazed how easily it removes thease spiderweb scratches you speak of. just remember to never touch the paint if it is dirty and wipe it with anything unless your sure there is no more dirt than water spots. any kind of dirt that is left on the paint that could have been sprayed off with a high pressure washer will scratch the paint if you wipe it.

I hand wash my car everytime. The Black is a hard color to clean and in the light it looks buish when te sun hits it. I have a portercable random orbit polisher and I use the Meguires clear coat scratch remover. then I wax it with meguirs liquid glass. My car has very little swirl scratches cause most of that is from automatic car washes or drying with towels instead of chamois.

I've got alot of swirls all over my car. The bodyshop really destroyed my beautiful new car. If only you could see it in person. There is even a piece of paint that chipped off on the side that was fixed.
I agree, most ppl i know either have silver or black. The silver guys are lucky cuz the dirt doesn't show nearly as much! Personally, I would only get Silver or Black, or, my favorite, that Aegean Blue. Its been raining off and on in Houston and its just so hard to keep this sucker clean!
