when i sold my last car, i took out the viper alarm, and when i first got my type s i was scared if i put that alarm in, i would lose factory options.... i just wanted to see if anyone has upgraded an alarm and lost a factory option that they would have liked to keep. so just let me know if you guys think i should put in the viper.... keep in mind that i already own the viper and the people who took it out of my last car said they would install it for very cheap in this car. so the question is not if i should go out and spend $400+ on the alarm and install but since i already own it, if i should have it installed. thanks

I'm no expert but when I had my aftermarket alarm installed the feature I lost was the ability to have my seats and side mirror automatically adjust themselves when you press the key fob.

Since I'm the only driver it's not a big deal to me (you can stilll press the '1' or '2' button on the driver's door panel). But, technically that feature only works for the factory key fob. My aftermarket alarm does many more things than the factory one so I wasn't the least bit worried.
