I ordered some Brembo blank rotors from AJUSA ($93 shipped) but they are not in stock and offered the akebono rotors as substitutes. He said they are a close second to the brembos. I have read here that the pads are good but never hear of anything on the rotors. Anybody got some input on them? Or know of another cheap place to buy the Brembos?

Thanks

Not sure, but my understanding is that many of these brands start with the same core blanks and finish them at their shops.

My main concern is that if you start with the same material, you'll still have the same potential of warping and such. The only difference would be if one has a better CAD system for mapping out the slot cuts and or cross drilling.

My is that folks should try and find out whos blanks they use, do they forge their own, do they use a CAD program and automated machining to minimize cutting issues etc.

Personally, I'm waiting on Excellerate to work out a GB with RaceShopper on some SP Performance rotors. The best part of this would be that if we can get 20 rotors bought, we'll get a deal on all other brake parts that they supply . . . . SS line, speed bleeders, fluid, pads, etc . . . and no minimums on those items to get a price break.

I just put brembo blanks with stock acura pads on and they are awsome. What a difference. The f+r pads were $75 and the rotors were $50each=$275 total and well worth it.
