You have a 99-01 right? You need a different airbag. One is a single stage(yours) the other is a Dual stage. Im sure there is a way to make it work but i dont know how to do that

Here is an option. Paint the cover. They make interior paint you could paint your 99 cover to match. I know a year or so back a member painted every thing and it turned out really good.

i was thinking about that but i already put all the work into changing it to black so i think i might just leave it the way it is and take out the bulb in the gauge

So you pop out the glove box remove the 3 screws and pop it out. It takes all of 5 min to do. With that one not plugged in your drivers side will NOT work either. Get the interior paint and paint your stock one and get your SRS system to work.

Why wont it? Get the paint in the color of the dash and spray it that color. That way at minimum (if its slightly different) your airbag system will work.
