I was wondering if anyone has aftermarket tail lights,
I've got a 99 TL and I wan't the 02-03 tail lights. Ebay has several for sale.
I wan't to know if the aftermarket ones are the same as oem. The pictures look the same, but they could be cheezy?

I also have a 1999 and i went with the matrix aftermarket tails and they look exactly the same as the 02's. The only thing i would recommend is if you get the aftermarket tails get some clear silicone sealant to make sure there is no water getting in the lights and also go on ebay and buy the chrome/amber bulbs so you don't get the fried egg look.

Huh? Where did you have to use silicone sealant?

I bought OEM lights from honda uraworld.com (remove space) and it was 'plug and play' easy. The hardest part about the install was getting to the nut closest to the body (upper right and upper left when viewing the car from behind)

i have a '00 and got the aftermarket lights from procarparts.com, u will need to change the bulb that it comes with to the amber one that your using now

i got the one from Makotoautotrends and so far, they pretty good. if you dont have to have OEM ones, then go for aftermarket ones and save yourself some money.

Speak to Victor and won't hurt to ask if you can get it for the same price that the group buy got it for. They come in Chrome and Brushed Aluminum (thats what I have). Costed about $70 w/shipping.

Yes, I saw it. But I was thinking about buying just a passenger side tail light (was hit a week ago). So, they don't carry this one. Good site, though. Thanks for your help, Mike!

You don't have to buy the whole kit. If all you need is the passenger side, call them up and order it.

What tail light are you looking for? The one with the amber lens on the top, i.e., a stock 2000 tail light?

This thread was about the tail light conversion, hence my confusion.

MikePA... i just used the sealent around the edges of the tails so no water can get in them

My fault! You right, I'm looking for amber. May end up converting to 2002 lights anyway.
