You may be able to do a custom job of adding a bypass valve, but I'm not sure. I don't feel that a bypass valve is necessary anyway. I have the AEM V2 on my car and have yet to have any problems driving in rain or hitting moderate sized puddles. Just use common sense and don't go into any really deep water, you'll be just fine. Besides going into deep water is going to do a lot of other damage to your car as well.

The AEM V2 gives our TL's an awesome roar under WOT. I love it. I don't, however, anything to compare it to. I've never heard any other intake on a TL, accept for sound clips off this site, which is hard to get an accurate idea of what it would sound like in person. Oh well, hope this helps.

You can slice the V2 open and put a bypass on it. However, You just lost any advantage the V2 has over the V1 CAI. So really, no you can't put a bypass on it. If you want a bypass just buy the regular CAI.

Thanks!!

Thanks guys!! The information helps me a lot!!
I think I'm gonna get the V2 only. It's there any difficialty in installing V2 on '00 TL??

However, This afternoon I was doing some search here and found out that Injen CAI also has a good sound, what do you think?? (I'm not looking for gainning more housepowers as you guys said before it won't gain much, so I just want a good WOT sound for my TL!!)

by the way, hzm82, have you gotten your door sills yet from Victor??

Dave

Hey, I have the Injen CAI and it sounds amazing at WOT. It has the deep growl that everyone loves. Also, it's really easy to install. I never worked with cars before and I still installed it in under 2 hours...maybe I just got lucky

lol the decision was easy for me...I wanted both of them, but the V2 was like $250 and I ended up getting a great deal on the Injen CAI and I got it for $150 off eBay. So the $100 difference made the decision for me.

Just get the V2. WHY?! Because almost everyone has the V1 or Injen...if not the icebox already. Be different.

hey david - i was in your exact position about a week ago....i was debating over intakes and how they sounded....i finally decided on getting the INJEN Race Division CAI. I heard that it has a sick roar at WOT and nice growls at low RPMs (similar to what bdv687 said).. I'm getting it within the next few days....good luck. also, like edgalang said "be different" that's a good idea but IMO i don't want to try things no one's tried on my engine, just in case i'm not satisfied it would be a bitch to rip everthing out and return and order new shit....i'm for the INJEN....good luck to you on your choice...(BTW congrats! ur car's about to sound really awesome!)
