I've had my AEM CAI installed for some time now. I think 5hp gain is probably more realistic.

More than anything is just sounds good.

After installing my CAI it feels to me like the graph is close to correct. Alittle gain all the time and alot in the upper rpm band. Recently drove a stock TL and can tell you it felt alot weaker. All I have is CAI, flow thru mufflers and use Mobil 1, that's it. But like the other guys said, the sound alone is worth it.

well i got a TL-S not a TL and im sure you would get more of a gain on the base TL rather that the type S but the graph said its a type s that they tested
i recently just opened up the air box and found that the filter is extremely restrictive and the intake pipe doent have the greatest design either so im sceptical but the graph just might be correct

I just got off the phone from AEM and the guy said that the charts are correct and that the chart is a wheel hp\tq dyno not engine so i guess it must be true ( i never though you could get 15 HP from and intake from a car that was already modified from its origonal version to make more power i guess i was wrong).

is there any body else with this intake?
any individal dynos?
personal prefrance?

Just wondering, but the graph says 2000 CL Type S ... I thought CL Type S's started in 2001?

The graph shows the bigest HP gain is above 6,000 RPM.
I don't think I will rev my engine to such high RPM.
However, its nice to see there is a few HP gain at the
low 2,250 RPM range too.

The graph looks right thus it does not mean AEM is better than any other like, injen, weaponR, comptech, etc.

Before 6000rpms there is almost no gain, more like 1-4hp at the wheels. After 6krpms there is a maximum gain of 15hp at the wheels at 6500 rpms. Not bad, but highflow filter will give you about the same gains.

I just installed my AEM CAI myself yesterday. It took about 2 hours. I tested my car before the install with no engine mods. After the install I felt a big difference. I could even chirp my tires from 1st to 2nd gear. I think they're worth getting.
