Took my 2000 TL into dealership last night for 45k service. I also mentioned to them about small tear in drivers seat and transmission jerk. Received a call this morning that when draining my trans fluid that there were some shavings in the fluid. Tech advisor said the techs could not find any codes in computer but he was going to have a manager take it for a drive.

Just a few minutes ago, service tech called back and said that they want to replace tranny in my car! He said that it would take two or three to get the tranny in and then a day or two to replace.

I currently have a RSX loaner and he said I can come in and exchange for a sedan so I can be my son's car seat in the back seat. I'm heading to the dealership in an hour to exchange for a TSX and wait a week for them to fix my tranny.

My TL has just a little over 46k miles and I tend to drive conservatively with a "few" moments of weakness!

sucks you trans died... stats show that less than 5% of TLs have trans problems even though its still a shit lota TLs. Maibe its the fact that its a shitty transmission and tha we like to race a lot!

idk if this is right but i got bored of driving an auto trans from a previous 5manual, so im using SS a lot for the past 6000mi, and last week, i discovered that we can even rev match when down shifting(i dont rev match 'couse i know what it can do). love my '99 though...would love more if it had a manual trans.

anyways, enjoy the TSX while it lasts!!
A question, are ALL second gen TLs [including '99 (4auto)] included in that 7years/100kmi recall warranty from acura?
