Acura TL wheel alignment

Can anyone please let me know what is supposed to be aligned for the 2000 Acura TL.

This car has 193000 miles on it.

These tires only had 9700 miles on it, before this condition occurred.

The inside portion of right and left tires are extremely worn. These are pictures of the front two tires from 2000 Acura TL.

How often does an alignment need to be done.

Are there three modes for alignment:
caster, camber, toe.

How long should an alignment last for ?

Thanks for any advice.

That is Toe wear. You should get an alignment any time you get new tires, and i personally get one yearly. It doesnt take much to knock it off where you wont notice but the toe is out and that is a giant killer of tires.

Wow, must have been a rookie setting up your alignment. Some of the softer compound tires will chew up quickly if the mechanical components are worn or poorly aligned. They both appear to be showing the same type of wear pattern. Were they ever rotated ? What air pressure were you running ? Were the tires oem stock sizing ? And lastly, even if you drove aggressively.....the outside should've also been more worn if the alignment was good.

These tires, were brand new in July, balanced and mounted. In August, I had the alignment. Exactly per OEM recommended size for 2000 Acura TL.

I am the victim of these tires. I usually check the tires for air pressure about once per month. It is 32 lbs pressure when the tires are cold. Meaning the car has not been driven for at least five hours. Outside ambient temperature is 58 - 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is painful, since it only has approximately 9600 - 9700 miles on the tires.
Now they are bald.

Do only the front tires for Acuras and Honda need alignment.

Is the only adustment "TOE". Do any additional parts or items need to make this work.

I do not believe I am an aggresive driver.

Thanks for any suggestions, and ideas.

front wheel alignment

Dear members,
Are there any additional parts that need to be purchased to make this alignment work.

Is this just a regular front end aligment that is done every 6000 - 7000 miles.

Can this be done by any facility, i.e. Firestone, sears, local garage repair shop.

Thanks.

Hey Rich9, were those tires an economy brand ? Check the treadwear rating on the sidewall. Even if they were not top line tires, ya should've done better than 10k on them.

If your rear tires are wearing normal, rotating every 5k is advised. The front and rear have alignment specs, but unless you have a mechanical issue.....the front is obviously the most critical due to the increased work load of the motor weight and turning manuevers. It's better to run a little higher air pressure, maybe like 36psi.

Check with other local folks about which facility they've had good luck with. The front end should be aligned at every tire replacement or if any repairs are performed to the steering suspension. Have your tie rods checked for play. A 10 year old car with over 100k on the dial is going to require some extra time inspecting for parts wear.

I would stay away from Firestone. You can check all the reviews about them.

I just did my alignment at Goodyear Auto services, $150 for 3 years (can even transfer the service to another vehicle if I sell mine).

If you had it aligned like you say I would go to the place that did it and have them replace the tires and redo your alignment.

And no, you don't need anything special for the alignment, all 4 wheels should be aligned, and any place that does alignments can align it. Your wear is toe wear. Don't let the shop tell you its caused by camber and you need special parts to adjust it. You would have to be running -7 deg + camber to wear them that fast.
