Acura rear wing installation...self or dealer?
I was thinking about buying an official Acura rear wing for my TL-P. How complicated is the installation? If it's too complicated, I'll likely have my dealer do it. If not, why pay $65-70/hour? And does it involve much drilling?
Thanks

Trust me, if you have used a drill before, you and a friend which is helpful can easily install your spoiler. I thought that it was a complicated instillation since it required drilling through paint but it was soooo easy. When I saw the guy do it, I knew I wasted 90 bucks. Just drill a tiny hole where your spoiler screws will go and drill bigger and bigger ones until you get to the size of your screw. Also, to help you out, there are holes under the spoiler so you drill in the right place.

Let me provide you with another perspective. When you have the dealer installed the spoiler it carries the same warranty as the rest of your car. so if the spoiler lights go out due to some loose wiring you take it back and get it fixed. I think It is worth the $90 in labor.

do it yourself if your getting the factory spoiler~~
its easy~~
if you open your trunk and look under rite? and you look at the sides where the holes are supposed to be drilled. you'll see two little bumpers on each sides. Thats were the holes need to be drilled. Those bumps are there for the dealers to install spoilers faster instead of always measuring them. its a perfect fit. but if you dont trust yourself then pay for it. If you check out other TL's with spoilers and see what im talking out, the litte bumps are where the spoiler screws go.
helpful advise
~have a friend to help you out
~start by drilling small holes then work your way up
hope this helps

Installing the spolier itself is easy- just 5 holes. You do have to be careful changing the tension springs, they can be a real ***** and possibly hurt you if you don't be careful. The wiring part is easy- just watch it on those springs!

If you dont feel confortable doing it then get it done by your dealer.I installed my spoiler with a friend and it was easy.
The only thing was i didnt buy a oem spoiler,i bought a factory style spoiler for about 1/3 of the oem cost.

I'm probably going to have the dealer do it. I found the premarked holes in the trunk lid. I could probably do it, but I'm just a wee bit nervous touching my brand new (25 days driven) TL-P. Besides, it's just too damn cold (25 degrees for a high).
