My dealer told me that they are so popular (depending on the color) that if they dont sell it to you, then the will be able to find a customer within a week or so.

Whoa, this dealer has some serious gnads for thinking they can get sticker for a 2001 right now. You are aware that the 02 model is coming in March right? People in this forum have been getting VERY good deals on 01s, invoice practically. Down here in Houston, theyve been running ads of the TL on the radio non stop trying to get rid of them.

Don't listen to that BS.
I got a 2001(picking it up soon) for $200 above sticker price, and that included destination, tax, docking fee, and the spoiler. You should be able to get at least $1500 off the sticker price.

Which dealer did you go to? I stopped at Ray Laks about two weeks ago and they seemed ok, I even used to play football against the salesman. They even let me test drive with out seeing my liecense, which was a first. To be honest, this was the first dealership where I didn't know the people that they basically kissed my ass, which only the Ford dealership does. Just tell the guy outright you refuse to pay the retail. Or maybe try and get an extended warrantee tossed in. You might also try buying a car online. My friend got a 2000 Tahoe for $7000 less than retail because he got a bunch of dealers in a price war. All you do is pay to have it shipped, usually $500 or so. The same friend got a new 97 CL for $500 under invoice. Warrantee work has to be honored at any dealer, it doesn't matter where you buy it. It would seem they would be flexible with the price due to the slowing economy, luxury items are the first to be chopped off peoples list. Just play some hardball and don't give in.

I got my silver 2001 w/ nav at 17 bucks above invoice. (NOT MSRP, invoice.) Check around, if you really want the car, get it from some other part of the country, and ship it to where you want it, you will still save.

I went to find a 2001 w/Nav and the Guy told me $29k. That's even higher than some of the other forum members paid.

They got 30 days to get rid of 2001. You might as well as buy a 2002 at sticker and tell him to drive his 2001 up his a$$.

I once test drove a 2000 Mustang GT. Sent them an email, came down, they handed me the keys and said "take your time"! Didn't ask if I even had a drivers license or even if I could drive a stick! I was really surprised because, being a young person, most dealers won't just give me a $27k car. Not that I want a Ford, but it was fun!

It really depends on where you live. In bay area, even though the price has came down, but it is still more expansive than other areas.

For same type of cars, driving to LA usually will save you $1-3,000 (depends on which car).

I ordered my 530i through a dealer at LA area for $2000 off sticker. But the same car at steven creek BMW would set me back at MSRP.

People in Bay area are basically being screwed. This happened when I bought my IS and TL as well.

If you are ordering the car, why not find a dealer that is willing to give you a low price and have the dealer re-route the car to your local dealer. I am doing it with my 530i, and you can do it with acura too.

I paid sticker price for mine plus extras. There was around a 5 month wait when I bought mine for Silver w/ NAV so I couldn't negotiate at all.

From the Springfield dealership in NJ. 28,600 including tax, destination, dock, wheel locks, window etching, spoiler, and maybe something else.

Acura of Ocean in Monmouth offered me the same deal. Then Infinity called me and offered me an I30 for the same price. I think the interior is nicer and alittle better quality but the TL looks alot nicer on the outside. TL all the way.

Test drive a fully loaded Maxima for the day. Drive the Maxima to the Acura to check features for features. They are pretty close, horsepower for horsepower. Having seen you in a new Maxima, or I30, or ES300, he'll wanna make a sale (sell 1 car today or sell 0 car today) You must insist you are dead serious and can write a check today! I got mine $1,500 off MSRP. Good Luck

What did you think of the Maxima? It was the first car I test drove (Owned 4 sentra's) and the TL was the last car on my test drive list. The Maxima is a very nice car but the TL is the only car that left me with a "Wow, that was nice" feeling. Your opinions?

YO NATE! Thats funny you said that, I traded in my 2000 GT with like 5,000 miles for this TL.
Would of kept it, but the insurance was gonna drop me and after I got the TL they ended up doing it anyways, ah well I love my TL!

Yeah the Bay Area sucks for buying a car, just so much demand for them.

BTW.. You bought an IS300, a TL, and have a 530 on the way? Damn, how many cars do you need??

A drive to Boston would be worth it.

I got a great deal on mine with Nav and factory kit (which I basically got for free). Acura of Boston has a ton of TL's in various colors that they have to be trying to get rid of for the 02's.

2001 Satin Silver TL w/ Navigation and Factory Underbody Kit. Comptech Headers, Exhaust, Springs, Sways, Inspire Tails and Short Ram Air Intake.

Priceline reported TL as the top seller last month. Maybe it is the discounting that is closing the deals. Have you try them for a quote?

The assholes at my dealership told my mother they would give the car to her for $24995 thats a pretty great price. It turned out that after I traded in my Rodeo for the TL, they got their money plus more!!!! They only gave me $9000 for my 98 Rodeo, I had brand new Mud Kings, 4WD, Power, 70,000 miles (nasty), and brand new multi color Panasonic chrome face cd player. Ill kill those bastards !!!

The TL has now been retired to my mother in-law.

My IS was stolen but later recovered (2 weeks later with about $2000 in damage). But I needed a car, so I ordered a 530i which is now due on 3/27. By the time my IS300 was found, the 530i is already in status 150 (in production), so I can't cancel. (the salesmen is one of friend, and I don't want to screw him over).

Right now I am trying to sell the IS300 but with its color (solar yellow), the price is not too good. I may ended trade the IS300 in.

regards
