Acura loaner cars?

Just curious. What type of rental cars have the acura dealers been giving you when your car needs overnight service?

Cush Acura used to give me LS 2-door and 4-door Integras. Now the cheapskates don't even give me a rental. They just shuttle me back home. That's just plain wrong.

I got an RSX for the second time.
The first time was about a month ago when the thing had
about 1k miles on it. I took my TL in this Monday and my
service rep gave the same RSX, now with 2200 miles.
I say this because I posted about it last time and complained
that it had less power than expected and someone asked me
if it was broken in.
Anyways, it seems to be a little quicker now with 2200 miles.
I might be imagining it but some cars have been known to get
quicker once broken in so...

And it wasn't always this good, they used to get me base
Saturns and Escorts from Enterprise rent-a-car.
Hope they don't ever go back to that!

Well, at the rate all them TL-Ss are coming back to the dealership, they may very well give you an Enterprise car! First time I took my car in for warranty work the dealer gave me a 2001 TL for a loaner; second time around they ran out of loaners so they had Enterprise loan me a Jeep Cherokee...

They gave me a 2001 Integra with 5,000 miles on it.
They also have Enterprise Rental but they give out them little SUVs. I told them I had an elderly mother that could not climb up into that thing so they gave me the Integra. I was glad to get my TL back as this teg had no get up & go.

At Ron Tonkin Acura it depends how early you get there. Early morning they have TL and CL, once those are gone either RSX or Integra.

Integras.

I have a feeling that Acura sold Integras for the sole purpose of providing a fleet of cheap cars for their service dept. loaners.

At Beaudry Acura in Tucson I got Integras, Bell Acura in Phoenix gave out TLs and RLs if you got there early enough. On the times I did go there and they were out of loaner cars they would give me one of the demo cars, I had wide range of cars while they were fixing a leak in the transmission seal (TL-S, NSX one day, and finally and MDX for about a week). The transmission seal was a long story, the service tech that was working on the car was hospitalized and out of work for a week and no one else knew what the deal was with my car.

All of you that got loaner cars, what kind of service did you do at the dealer? Anyone got a loaner even for small service?
I bring in many times only to fix noises and fender liner cracks. I never got a loaner car.

I got one just for an oil change and moonroof rattle fix; initially I was just gonna wait since the service advisor said it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to fix both, but after a half hour she said that she was gonna give me a loaner for the rest of the day since they started falling behind schedule. Nice of her to do that since I sorta don't think that many dealers would give you a loaner if they're not gonna hold your car for more than a day, let alone even half a day.

Loaner Cars

Yesterday they gave me a 2001 1.7 EL with a radio that didn't work. Service rep said I guess you'll have to sing to yourself all day.

Service manager told me they only have 3 loaner vechicles as per Acura Canada policy, and they are always EL's. It is not unusual for the service manager to loan out his personal car a (Honda) if all loaner cars are reserved, and a customer demands a loaaner.

The idiots at Acura of Pleasanton gave me a Ford Focus from Enterprise. If you got an Acura as a loaner, consider yourself lucky.

I had a 1.7 EL 5 speed. Nice little car, all leathered up with a 5-speed. I drove the sh## out of it as I had not driven a standard in a while, and it goes pretty good.

Either I get a mid-size car from enterprise such as Impala, stratus, explorer, etc.

Last 2 times I got a green TL type S with 3k miles and last I got a silver TL type S with 1,800 miles.

I also gotten a gold CL type S.

They are usually very nice at Rick Case Acura at least with me

Red face I can top all youse guys!

Yeah that's right. Weir Canyon Acura ran out of Integras and took me to Enterprise rent a scrap heap and gave me a Geo Metro. How pathetic! I had to pay extra out of my own pocket to upgrade to something that didn't look like an oversized toaster on wheels.

Can anyone top that? eh?

I never got a loaner car. When I heard my dealer is going to ofter me a taxi on the first time, I was thinking wow... how nice. Yup, they ofter me a telephone number, something they called acura taxi hotline. wtf, that's going to cost me $30-50 to get back to work in the morning.

Hmm... does it matter what time you drop off your car? I've always dropped off in the morning (8am). Does it help you to get a loaner car if you drop it in the afternoon (before closing 6:50pm)?

Leith Acura in Cary, NC gave me a 2002 TL-P the first time and a 2001 TL the second time. The first time they had the S for a day to fix some warranty stuff, the second time they had my car for four days to do some warranty paint repair. I have no complaints.

I am planning to drop my TL off for the service, and I wanna know which dealer has better loaner car. I don't want to end up driving Geo Metro like Josh did.
I gotta be prepared...

Welp,
Time to take the RSX back and pick up my TL.
I miss my TL but I gotta tell ya, that RSX sure handles!!
It feels much better than a regular 3-series bimmer
(regular= no sports package).
And I just love that steering wheel!!
... wonder if I can fit one on my TL??
Later, bros!

In So Cal, I hear that Acura 101 West has loaners, I will find out what kind on Friday when I take the TL in for service. Hopefully they can fix the rattles. Santa Monica Acura had an RSX loaner but now they don't.

I got a crappy Chevy Cavalier that I parked. I'd rather drive my old pickup truck I use for dump runs. At least it does not smell like cigarettes!

Acura Loaner Vehicle

I traded my Lexus for the Type-S recently. The Lexus dealers here in MN always provided an ES300 or a RX300 when my Lexus is in the shop for more than 1/2 day. Acura is the 'luxury' division of Honda, the message inputs so far sound like all Acura dealerships need to improve their practice after sales to provide consistent quality services.

Why dealers should give out nice loaner cars:

I think of this as a conditioned response. If every time we take our cars into service for the dealer, we are greeted with a scrap heap like a Geo Metro as a loaner vehicle, then we will not very much enjoy visiting the dealership. Unconsciously, we will associate in our minds that dealership with ugly, dilapidated beater cars and think of it in a negative light. Every time we see a Cavalier, a Metro, or a Corolla on the road, we will remember our poor experiences at that dear to our hearts dealership. We will soon discover that we would not want to go back to that dealership, lest we be again stricken with another nasty monstrosity on four playskool sized wheels and endure the mockery of our friends.

One thing they teach you in business is to always treat your customer well and never to cut corners in visible and essential areas. If this rule is violated, customer loyalty will most certainly be absent. Either the customer will seek another dealer, or abandon the product line altogether and go with a competitor who does know the meaning of customer service. For example.....er....Lexus? I've never heard of a Lexus dealership giving out Geo Metroes as loaner cars.

Honestly, it is a short term savings for dealers to give out lousy loaner vehicles. They only hurt themselves.

Miss my car sooo much. Took it in to fix the a$$ warmer, some rattles. They're going to replace the warmer and my sub. I can't stand the POS integra. It's 2001 with 7000 on it, but feels like it's about to fall apart.

It seems as though Acura dealers are left on their own for loaners, both in providing and choosing what to provide. Some dealers give out loaners for things like routine maintenance and some need to be pressed to cough one up for a major repair. I had some minor warranty work done at Acura of Avon in CT a few weeks back and I got an '01 Integra LS. For me personally, as long as I have *any* working car I don't care, because a loaner is just that--temporary. The service manager said they have eight loaners in the fleet--two TLs and six Integras. First come, first serve. I'm not sure what happens if you're the 9th customer scheduled for that day, as they give out loaners under the assumption you will keep the car for the whole day.

Well if u feel the car u are recieving is ridiculously sub-par REFUSE REFUSE REFUSE!!!!! Demand better, insist on it, THEY GOTTA have an Integra somewhere. True the dealer is hurting itself, but if the owners DEMANDED better, the dealer would have to change......

Or ask, "can I get a TL loaner" etc, hell I always ask for a IS loaner cause I'd fall asleep behind the RX or ES loaners. I RARELY get an IS loaner, but I ask.........(never hurts)
