Acura is good at covering up...

My car was sqeak and rattle free until now. With 3200 miles, all h*ll has broken loose. sunroof, doors noises, dash noises. Is there a car that is out there that will not make noises? i don't even drive on rough roads!? Sorry, it just sucks.

Sorry to hear that, man. I've got 6,000 miles and thankfully mine is squeak and rattle free. Hopefully my baby won't fall victim to the rattle monster.

Robots rock

Japanese robots work just the same in Marysville as they do in Tochigi. If Honda is as smart as they usually are, they'll have correct and sufficient service bulletins out as soon as they figure out the best way to fix the problem on the early models. In a very real sense, the TL-S is the flagship of Acura's line, and they'd be idiotic to let it get a bad reputation.

39,909 miles on my '98 CL and not a rattle or squeak to be heard. Less than half that on my '00 BMW, and it sounds like it's going to fall apart anytime now. By the way, BOTH were built in the U.S.!

QA has to be a manual process. Otherwise how are you going to fine problems like rattles?

My Accord V6 has many of the same problems.

It has the sunroof rattle but there's a TSB for this.

I have some sort of weird dash twangy rattle over bumps, and I have no idea what the heck this is - but it doesn't rattle very often.

I had a rattling passenger seat headrest. It turns out the little height adjustment release clip - the metal bracket thingy that notches into the height slots on the headrest poles - was rattling against the headrest poles. I buffered it with a small piece of scotch tape and the problem went away.

I also have a popping noise from the back left seat/door becasue there's improper clearance between the door and seatback material. One other Accord V6'er got this fixed under warranty by having the seatback replaced. I need to do the same thing...

If there is one weakness in the Accord V6, it's the interior quality. Too many rattles squeaks and noises...arggh!!

3800 and some squeaks, some may be related to the seat belt needing to be lubed that has already been posted, haven't tried it yet to see if thats it or if there is more. It is kinda irritating to simply breath and cause a squeak!

3,300 miles and only noise so far is just a creaking noise heard from behind the dash that I've traced to a vent opening and closing with the Auto AC on - dealer is checking it out next service. Other than that, whisper quiet.

I think someone took the sunroof out of my 98 Accord EX V6 and put it in my TLS because the rattles and squeaks in my TLS sound EXACTLY the same as was in my Accord. If Honda hasn't figured out a fix by now, either they can't or don't care.

American Honda has a TSB for this - I have to call them and have them fax it to me but I've been too busy lately. I'm sure American Acura (or whatever they call themselves) has a similar fix.

It involves adding some tape/padding or something and then that takes care of the rattling for good. As a temporary fix, just close the slide hatch beneath the moonroof. This makes the rattle go away. Or just keep the moonroof in the tilt-open or full-open position. It only makes the rattling noise when it's closed and the hatch is open on my Accord.

I have squeaks too, but I don't think it's an Acura characteristic. I believe you'll get that even on a MB S Class eventually. Acura will fix all those squeaks for you if you can isolate them.
