Exclamation Acura dealer quote...brake pads, rotor resurfacing...

I called Curry Acura here in Westchester, NY today inquiring about how much it would be to replace my two front brake pads on my 2003 TL Type-S.

The guy told me it would be around $300 because the rotors have to be resurfaced as well.

Is the rotor resurfacing neccasary if they are still in great condition. The price seems steep to me and my knowledge is at a minimum.

Hook me up with a quick answer!

Not sure, but I just got 4 new drilled/slotted race concepts rotors and 4 posiquiet pads for $200, then my mechanic is charging me $80 to install. I would say if you are going to spend that, why not get some nicer rotors and pads?

I was looking at the slotted rotora rotors and I haven't looked much into specific pads. Any recommendations?

How is the breaking on your car now?

I am using EBC greenstuff with powerslot rotors and it has been a great combo so far. Very smooth compared to stock and alot more stopping power on tap if needed.

Depending on what pads you use but if its OEM pads and just resurfacing the rotors that is double of what you should pay. I think resurfacing is like $30 tops and OEM pads are about $50 and throw in labor , hour tops

Like Spene said- you can get all new brakes all around for that, and they will not warp. I just got my set for 250 and put it in myself. Its not very hard at all.

Probably not hard to install, but I'm a mechanitard- although with the help of this forum I'm learning and doing a lot more.

I got the Posi-quiet brakes off EBAY- good reviews. I will give an update on the brakes once I get them put on, still waiting for the rotors.
