Acceleration Issues first thing in AM
Acceleration Issues first thing in AM
Hello,
For the past few colder mornings (ranging from 30 - 50 degrees in Central TX), my 99 Acura 3.2 TL has had issues accelerating, especially when making my first right turn out of my complex. The engine seems to be warming up a little too long and once it catches up, the "thud" - no sound, but the actual feel of the car catching up to itself and driving a little jumpy then occurs. It definitely fades away the longer I drive, but the fact it occurs with each startup with a "new" transmission (7 years old) with only 29,000 miles on it has me a little on guard. I check my transmission fluid 3 times a week - it always looks clean and full. I have read similar posts by others about this same thing happening to them so I am wondering if I am reading into it too much or if this is something I need to take care of now before it gets worse.
Thanks for reading.

I get the same behavior on my '99 as well - I figured it was the tranny being slow due to cold fluid, but honestly I know very little about the innerworkings of a transmission so take that with some salt. I've been driving with that for about 3 years now and haven't really noticed it getting worse though.
Try changing the spark plugs. Mine was jerking (misfiring) and really loud in the morning, too. I live in Ohio so the mornings here get super cold lol. After I changed out the spark plugs it stopped doing the jerking.
