It was terrible today. I was in Herndon for work and we got pounded but luckily my car was not hit with any hail. Most of Herndon was without power though and it made my ride home long because there was a sherriff irecting traffi at every light on rt 7.

I could do without this kind of weather. Sorry to hear about your car..

Sigh.... My car was out in that mess too. Lucky(?) for me I was parked next to some trees and I think the hail was stopped for the most part before it got to my car. But, then again, my car is covered in debris, dirt, and sap so I can't tell if I have any dents.... This brings back bad memories of the hailstorm we got in '99 that nearly totaled my last car (3 new body panels, 4 panels had dents removed, two side marker light housings replaced, and a total re-paint job).

Damn it rained like there was no tomorrow here in the Fair Lakes area ... My car was parked outside but luckily it doesn't look like there was any dents or damage.

Lost power a few times in the office though. The computers really liked that

That's exactly where I am and there are a few employees here to reported some dents in their cars.... I'm reserving judgment until I can wash my baby... (or, until we get more rain from that *$#*@ hurricane)

Put a clean shine on it and take a good look from different angles and in different lighting. From certain views I can't see anything, but from others the hood looks like the surface of the moon! Most of the dents aren't very big, but there are so damn many...

I called my insurance company this morning. They took the information and transmitted it to one of the three recommend body repair shops in the area, which happens to be the local dealer where I bought the car. (which, by the way, also go hit hard by the hail - Acuras, Lexi... ouch...). The shop called me today and I have an appointment for an estimate tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the dents ScotTLTypeS . Even the smallest dent on my car burns me up to this day. We should have a moment of silence for the number you got in one night.

That's crazy, hail in NOVA. I lived there for two years and never saw any, thankfully.

I'm anticipating a move down to the Gulf area next year and I heard that they have some pretty bad hailstorms down south. As Bacardi aluded to, does the car cover really help against hail damage? I'm thinking it does...can anybody else verify? Or howabout securing some blankets over your car?
