Some guy pulled up next to me in an A6 goin bout 90mph,it looked almost brand new he looked at me and just took off, so I floored it and caught him at 110 by 120mph, i was gone on him. But after I raced him my car smelt weird like something was burning but it disapeared in a minute, what was it?

How? No peeling out we were on the freeway.

 

I was following a A6 2.8 to the expressway yesterday and he was driving fast. His license plate said NOSLOPOK. I kept it close to him, without tailgating, just to let him know I could keep up with him.

As we got onto the expressway, we were the only two cars on the on ramp and he nailed it. He got a small jump on me as I nailed it and caught right up to him. We were doing 70 as we merged into traffic and I passed him. He was pissed! I kept going and he got caught in traffic.

I slowed down and cruised, but I could see him in the mirror changing lanes and driving like a manic to catch up. He passed me but wouldn't even look at me. I laughed at him.

I don't know.... maybe the A6?

i smelled something burning too when i was going 230km/h, i assumed it was the rubber because that's an awful lot of friction when you're going that fast.

As I was coming back from New York some dumb ass going about 140km/hour in is audi A8 passed me on a winter snowing sh*tty day. 5 minutes after I saw his expensive audi wrected at the side of the highway with 2 police viechle beside him....."SLOW DOWN ON A SH*TTY DAY" is the advice I would give him.

 

Hmmm...I own an A6 along with my CL-S and I wouldn't dream of racing anyone. It's very slow... maybe in the 8-8.5 sec 0-60. Now a 2.7T is a different matter.

 

Funny that you guys raced an A6 cuz I was about to start a new post. I got the honor of taking on an A6 2.7T today. We were both at a red light. I turned my traction off and then we took off. He got a quicker jump cuz I heard rev so I assume stick. I caught and passed him by like 2 or 3 feet by the time I hit 5000RPM or so. My car shifted to 2nd then he slightly passed me. I caught him and passed him and vise versa when we hit 3rd and vice versa again. We came to the next red light and we both rolled down our windows and decided to meet up at a shopping center coming up. He was very impressed how fast my car was, hell so was I since he had the 6spd. variety. I would call it pretty even but I kept passing him when I hit high 4000's RPM plus he could have been power shifting. The race didn't go past 90MPH. Nice to know my car can stand up to the twin turbo version of the A6!

Well, every once in a while, if I am coming home from some "spirited driving" off the highway, my house is a block off the highway, so i get home from my "spirited driving" pretty quickly once I get off the highway(<---too many times I say that word!)I notice a funky smell too, smells a little like a plastic bag stuck to the catalytic converter...that's the best way to explain the smell, and no, there is nothing stuck to my cat or the rest of the car...is that the smell you are getting?

Thats funny 2000,the A6 I raced did the same thing! He started swerving in and out of traffic trying to find a way to race me again!

I use to get that odor too! It went away. Maybe cuz I got like 25K miles and I drive the shit out of my TL. I didn't even break it in cuz I don't believe in babying any car for 1000 miles. Man that's like almost a month for some of us. Forget that!
