The date in the files is 1998 so..at least that old. They were the original files from the factory on the 99 TL.

I got hold of Region 5 files with database version 415 but confusing part is that its size on disk is only 253 MB while DB413 is 282 MB ... so which one is the latest? the files timestamps are the same datewise but times are different?

Hmm...interesting. Maybe the region lines were redrawn slightly or fewer POIs.

I got the database version from the "information" screen on the nav unit. There's a bunch of codes on the drive, but nothing that smells "data version".

Did you try running a diff on the files?

Are you aware of ANY region files over two time periods? Perhaps we can trend the change in data size from build to build...

Just a thought.

not sure runnig a diff will help as most of the files are raw data files. A diff is helpful only on text files. But I am ok with either database as long as the navigation unit works.
on another note, I finally got my navigation working but I had to try two PNY compact flash. One worked the other did not work. both had FAT16 file system... weired.

Hey guys,.. I recently sold my '99 TL for a 4runner, so I'm saying goodbye to Acurazine for awhile. But I just wanted to drop by and say that I have a 512mb PNY compact flash card loaded with Region 1 files (CA & NV). You'll still need the PCMCIA adapter to make it work, but otherwise it's plug and play. I'm selling it for $10 with free shipping. Just PM me if you want it.

Can you send them to my email please?

Welcome to the forums.

I doubt very much that you will get a reply, since the post was made in 2007 and the poster hasn't been in the forums since 2011.

Maybe you'll get lucky and someone else might have the information.
