'99 TL Front rotors warped AGAIN!
Hi... Anybody have any ideas? I bought Brembo rotors and Akebono pads about 40,000 miles ago. The Akebono pads are clean and quiet they just don't stop very well. Now that the rotors are warped again, I thought I would ask for rotor and pad suggestions.
Thanks for your help,
Jim

You can try Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors or Raybestos PG Plus rotors. They are great quality rotors that are well made as opposed to the cheap junk most places sell. Do not buy Duralast (Duracrap as far as I'm concerned), no-name brands, etc. I've got about 30K miles on my Advanced Technology rotors and I've never had any issues.
My old 94 Ford Thunderbird was going through rotors every 4-5 months until I finally got fed up and bought Raybestos PG Plus rotors. I ran those rotors for 45K miles until I sold the car. I never had problems with those either.

I have had powerslot rotors for at least 30K - no warping. Aikobodo pads - previusly EBC Green Stuff ( too loud/heard the grind and dusty on wheels - good performance though). Im happier for everyday driving with the powerslot - Aikibodo combo.

what are you making a diagnosis of warped rotors on?
shakes under braking 60 to 40? always shakes
Have you flushed the brake fluid..ever? should be done once a year
Keeps calipers working correctly

What might be up with a local dealership claiming they get better resurfacing results with a machine that does the job while the rotor is on the car?
They claimed it makes the rotors true, and that they're then "matched to the car". And even when installing new rotors, they put them on the car, and then surface them.
I asked many questions about warping, and one scenario was hitting water, like a big puddle or rain storm, with very hot discs. Any validity to this idea?
EBC Green pads are a bit loud but give excellent stopping power? The trade off in noise is longer stopping distance?

I've had the fluid changed regularly and according to specs. It shakes the steering wheel slowing from say 60. Since this is now my third set that I'm replacing, I'm pretty confident in the diagnosis. Some people might say only three sets in 160+K miles? In my old Legends I used to get much better wear from brakes and never had to replace rotors.
