99 intake question

installed Injen CAI on my 99. ripped out the stock air box and the coolant lines. ran the coolant tube that comes from front of motor right into the port under TB. there was a little fuel filter lookin thing that i didnt put back in the tubing. what was it? and do i need it? i'll post a pic later but like i said it looks like a little fuel filter. any 99 guys care to shed some light? thanks in advance.

It is part of the stock intake. If you have a CAI, you don't need it anymore.

For the tubing, you just take off one of the tubes and plug it into where you unplugged it from.

well for the tubes, after i pulled out all the old plastic and hoses. theres that metal rail infront of the motor that has coolant coming from bottom tube and vacuum from top tube. i ran that bottom tube into the spot under the TB with 5" of tubing that i cut from all the left overs. everything is cool and the vtec now screams louder than just the resonator removed.
just wondered about that thing was because i could blow air threw it both ways and i didnt understand what its job was. i'm guessing it shuts off flow once its warmed up???
