99 HID bulbs

can you use the oem ballest with new bulbs or you have to buy the whole coversion?
i wanna get the 8000k bulbs

yes and dont go with 8K....your eyes will get sore and you wont be able to see anything....i tried it for shits and giggles and hated it after a week...

Get 6000k. Has just the right amount of blue without sacrificing visibility.

Stick with the stock K (nothing is brighter). If your bound and determined to go higher dont go higher than 6k.

i use 6k...

honestly, i could drive around my town without lights cuz of all the lamp posts that are like.. 20 ft apart... haha

Anything above the stock Kelvin rating of 4300K involves a loss in visibility. Some forum members have actually reinstalled their 4300K bulbs after trying out 6000K bulbs because the loss was so noticeable. Others have been happy with 6000K.

8000K is crazy talk.

I've been doing great with my 6000k's. I usually run my 6000k fogs with it too though, but I've done just the headlights and they seem fine to me too. And ya, 8000k is gonna be like driving blind, especially in rain.

HID conversion kits are for cars that don't have factory HIDs. You have factory HIDs so all you need is HID replacement bulbs like these:
