^^^^no way dude...
Ive lived in several different climates (IL, NE, MS, TN, KY) and the southern heat+humidity takes the cake. The heat and humidity in MS is close to LA and it SUCKS...
rockstar that sucks re the mirror...can you get one from fleabay?

See the quote above. The original mirrors in these cars had a tendency to start leaking the fluid for the autodim feature. The original company that made them were replacing them for free at first and then they stopped. I was lucky enough to get one before they stopped giving out the replacements.

- IMPORTANT!!!!! Mirror issue-
if anyone gets spots on the edge or a bubble anywhere on the surface of the glass--after mirror auto dim quits working
Its going to fail in a big way!
See the `rearview mirror exploded` thread for scary stories
some dealers are doing a 50-50 pay with you for a replacement mirror- its a $150 part
go talk to the PARTS manager and then take it to glass shop for $20 install or DIY
do NOT buy a used one- its probably the old style
Put a ziplock on that thing today BEFORE you drive = no kidding
a qt or larger size bag and some tape, so the mirror is contained with seal at top
It will leave a bad substance that will make you sick all over the interior!!-IF you are lucky enough to be out of the car when it happens
Leave the moonroof cracked open to act as a heat chimney in those temps too
For all in bad high temps: a piece of window tint film on the inside of the moonroof will cut interior temps- feel the glass when its been outside for a few hours, and it stays hot while you drive~
there is no legal limit to how dark there!
A piece of reflectex material-(hardware stores sell by the linear foot)
looks like bubble wrap with mylar on both sides- slip that into moonroof and it will cut 15-20 degrees especially with the tint-
Tape a leading edge so it cant get sucked out when the roof opens vertically at back--(guess how I know)
104 ++ is average in my area pretty soon, better get the Thermoblock spacer installed so it still runs like its cold out

when i get in my car in the afternoon... it takes about 15 seconds before i start dripping sweat.. by the time my AC cools the car off, my shirt is soaked
mirror ordered.. gonna attempt to put it on myself. it took two of us to get the old one off lol.
PS. the cold doesnt affect how you look and smell!
simple things like pumping gas leave you wiping sweat from you head and neck.. its horrible

yall aint right for that lol.
but no, no husky peeps over this way. my wife would kill me.
its just really THAT humid and muggy. the inside of my car measured 132 one day with a cooking thermometer...
remote starters are for lazy people.. why not just go outside and crank the car? lol
i dont get off at certain time everyday.. so when i leave.. i just found out im off.. it wouldnt benefit me much.

Ive got remote start on mine, but only use it in the winter.
And youre right, rockstar-it really is THAT humid and muggy in the "dirty south". I remember in MS on a hot summer day all you had to do was go outside and stand there for a couple of minutes and the sweat would start.
100 ambient+100% humidity=something like 200 degrees, right? (or at least it feels like it..lol)

^ LOL I don't think you can just add like that.........
It gets pretty hot up in the NE sometimes too. But only heat waves that last 4-5 days. It's mostly like upper 80s-mid 90s most of the time

i gotta wear pants and a polo to work
i roll the windows down right when i leave but its like a hurricane of hot air for about 30 seconds lol. then the AC starts to cool down.
anyone have an idea if an aftermarket mirror will fit on the bracket.. i never used the auto dim and to keep it from messing up again i'd like to just have a regular ol' mirror.
anyone?
