Has anyone tried any of the LED 9005 compatible kits that are starting to come available for their high beams? If so, how well do they work?

 

Which kits are you looking at? There are two types out there, one is basically a cheap DRL and does not project usable light. The other is much more expensive and will actually do the job it is being advertised for. So you want to make sure you are buying the right product.

 

I would get a set of LED mini lights that go under the bumper for real lighting on the road
Our high beam reflector sucks compared to modern technology in mini lights
These are popular on motorcycles and put out an amazing amount of light
BUT are pricey..looking at $300 for a set of 2 for the bike

 

The use of High Beam LEDs only work right in Projectors style High Beams (Like in Bikes). In Reflector style the LED doesn't have enough side pattern to "reflect" light into the road so you end up using only what it can shoot in front of it which compared to say? HID? isn't any better.


Install 9005 High Beams with 5000K HIDs and you will be amazed Its my current setup and its just OVERKILL I mean it can basically light up almost 1 mile easily and compared to Low Beams its like having 5x the output in front of you.
