Looks legit. Not sure if I would like the color emitted from them. 6K seems nice. Have you checked out PIAA's website? They may have a Japanese site, too.

IMO, anything above 6000k will have more of a bluish/purplish light which will attract the cops more. Plus you won't be able to see anything on the road anyways.

BTW, I've seen 8000k and heard the 10,000k will be coming out soon.:wow:

But I am more than happy with my 6000k.

Don't get anything above 6000k. With 6000k bulbs, your already losing visability in about 10-15% range. Don't believe what people tell you about anything higher than 6000k. If you look at Philips and Osram, they offer no bulbs higher than 6000k because the light output not only sucks, but I hear life quality is reduced also. Trust what reputable German companies have done and not what other cheap companies are claiming.

Thumbs down

That PIAA stuff won't last very long. I used to have a pair of PIAA Superwhites on my other vehicle and it burned out in less than a year.

Supposedly that shouldn't be the case. But unless your friend did an entire headlight housing conversion to take the HID, that could be the reason as to why the 6000k are dark purple. If you click on my sig labeled "Osram 6000k" you can see how my color is. The Osram and Philips have virtually no color difference. There shouldn't be a reason why 8000k are brighter, the opposite should be true. The 4300k is the closes to "sunlight" which produces the most optimal light output and visability. That is the reason why car manufactures such as Acura, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, and so on do not go any higher. Do not confuse what color you see from like the BMW or Lexus being either purple or white. They are still 4300k but what makes them emit a different color is due to the design of their housing. Check out these posts:
