60k service interval

so my maint req'd light ison.
the car has 60k on it.

i lost my owners manual.

i scheduled an appointment with the dealer.

they said it is a 400.00 charge.

am i getting ripped?...

what the hell are they going to do for 400 bucks?.

i am sure that if there is someting wrong, they will charge me
over the 400...for whatever it is.

is this a wothwhile service.

the dealer dude said it is the biggest service interval for the car.

is that right?..

why do i feel liek i am going to get reamed?..

if you want to reset the light, hold both the select and reset button while the key is out of the ignition. Then continue holding the two buttons, and turn the key into the position II, and hold the buttons until the maint req'd light goes off. Then release the buttons, and turn the car on.

That will eliminate the light.

Hey Joseph_99TL,

i have a 00 TL and went into the dealer just to get an aliament done because my steering wheel was off center...anyways, my car was at 60K too and the service guy asked me if i wanted to get it done. He told me it was the most important service interval of them all. i'm sure if i came in at 90K he would have said the same thing. like a sucker i ended up getting it only to see that they only flushed my fluids, changed the oil and oil filter. they inspected the suspension and suspension joints....they gave me a check list of everything they checked. let me know if you want to see it, i might be able to take a digital photo and attach it. but yeah, long story short, it's a rip, i recommend shopping around too, doesn't have to be an acura dealer...quality of service shouldn't differ that much.

Good gracious dont do it!!!! The service interval recommendations are a cash cow for the dealers. Just change out/flush all of your fluids and examine the car yourself...or have a good mechanic that you trust look at the car. Doubt that he would charge 400.00 bux for that. If that was not the case, how could you ever take a car to a mechanic to inspect it before you buy it. That generally runs around 60.00

Thanks Fellas...I just turned that annoying a$$ light off. I have 50k on my TL and my light turned on. The dealer told me it was my 50k mi service and it would cost me 150.00. Same line of BS you guys were getting except cheaper...right? Do I really need to flush the radiator and everything else...? Is there anything else I should do at 50k? I just changed the oil and rotated my tires. Thanks again!
