6000K is a must!!!!!
I know I must be the millionth person to say this but **** it. Everyone must upgrade to these bulbs. They are truly amazing. My girlfriend bought me a pair for my birthday this weekend and I installed them last night. Now I can't stop starring at the light on the floor when I drive. The pictures that people have posted of their lights do NO justice what so ever. You have to see these lights in person and you will be sold.

D2R is the reflective type bulb that is used in the TL's. D2S is a projector type bulb that is used in BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes-Benz's....The housing for the bulb in our cars is optimized for D2R bulbs but you can put in D2S....I think Mr Hyde has D2S bulbs in his TL-S.

Since I have a diffuser in my 99 TL, I am getting the D2S to blind people even more.
BTW, I saw it on Infamuz CL-S and it was pretty purplish but it was still daytime. I have to see it at night and in person to see the difference for myself.

what about the PIAA headlight bulbs that is being sold on this site? would those work...and how are the quality compared to the ones you got..?

They would be under HID and click on the link that says Ultinon 6000K. Our size is D2R but some members have used D2S with little modification. $290/pr shipped.
I believe the PIAA bulbs that are being sold on this site are just for our high beams. The 6000K bulbs are for our low beams. Do a search on these bulbs on this site and you can check out sum of the pics. But don't forget the pics really don't do justice. They look 10X's better in person.

The D2R has its light output reflected downward so more of it keeps on the road. The D2S doesn't have that reflective stripe so it disperses light evenlly all around which is focussed later by the projector glass. You could use either one but why would you want to lose light on the objects in front of you by using the wrong bulb?
yo.....do they come with a ballast also....or just the bulb? if you wanted to upgrade to 6000k or 8000k, do you need a ballast as well? and wow.,, 290 shipped is real cheap for those xenons...let me know

And make sure you you check the shopping basket coz it gets focked up sometimes and picks the wrong item. Make sure the quantity part is marked next to "6000K Xenon Discharge D2R 12 volt 35 watt"
You right BDI. I installed my 6000k's during the daytime and said to myself, "Now why I go spend 3 bills on this for?"....................several hours later, took her out and DAMN!!! I'm content!!! I'm staring at the ground and everything thats lit up by them:wow:. Very nice, IMO. Looks even more crazy when you first turn them on.
Between the 6000K HID and the PIAA Plasma Yellow ION's, my car looks like a damn Disco!
.....what am I doing??

The rest is just simply twisting the harness counter-clockwise and un-clipping a metal wire which holds the bulb onto the housing.
It's more of a pain to get to them really, and thats not a big deal at all.
Have no fear
.
BDI what internet site did u buy yours for $290..So D2R's are the ones to buy...Does it make a difference what brand(every1 usually has phillips), is there a lifetime warranty, b/c if so, ill sell my old ones.

Cool TuffGong..........now maybe you should convert your fogz to 6000K too
.
Devious I got my bulbs from autolamps-online like most other members on the board. As for lifetime warranty, I doubt any bulbs have that type of warranty. I don't even think our stock bulbs have a lifetime warranty.
