6 Speed Conversion update

Hi people, my name is Ellie. I'm one of joe's classmates helping him with his conversion. he's been out sick for almost a month now (mono) but asked me to post pics for him a while back, I'm finally free from work and summer intersession class so I decided to take a few minutes out of my time to sign up on here and post his pics up for him. He's almost done! I guess his thread is closed, so i'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but if not, please move it to the right place thanks!

This is me and my 300ZX Twin Turbo Sure i'm not hot, but at least I have the car to make up for it.

And his ride, it's about done, he's just waiting on a few more parts

Oh yeah, he wanted me to tell you guys that he's been working with a few people on and some other accord tuners here in Tampa. I'm not sure how to explain it, he'll probably tell you guys more in detail whenever he's on here again... Here's the list he gave me:

This is for fsttyms1, i'm not sure if it's spelled right, excuse me if it isn't.

1. There's some way to keep the automatic ECU thinking it is in D1 and starting in neutral. He's working with honda tech that goes to usf to try to make a harness for you guys so you can keep your engines without having to worry about getting extra parts/sensors. It should go to the switches on your clutch pedals also. I know the guys on made one for the accords, but there should be ones for your guys cars soon too.

2. For the speedometer, a while back, he got the regular type-s speedometer and just swapped out the tachometer with that of a CL-S 6 speed and it works just fine. We tried it on my brother's TL-S. It works and there's no need to buy the upper dash harness on your list.

Um.. other thant that, let's see..... oh, his engine hoist was stolen from his room as he was moving which really sucks =( ... mmm .. oh yeah, there was supposed to be videos I have to upload too but I don't know how to do that. Can someone help me on that? Thanks!

Oh yeah, P.S. i think there was two guys he mentioned that he was supposed to his transmission and covers to, I don't know their names, but he said he's just going to refund you guys the money. I've sent out those things for him twice while he's been out and they just keep coming back, supposedly some fires in georgia are conflicting with some delivery services.. i dunno

Thanks for the update!

That's lousy about the stolen engine hoist.

nice car... but did you do a TT swap or something?

front lip says NA, no rear turbo wing, and gas cover is behind the well saying 2+2 which never came turbo..

if you did do the swap, wouldnt it have been cheaper and better to run an aftermarket single turbo setup

my cousin has a 90 TT, first car i legally drove such a sick car

EDIT: and he shouldnt have to trick the ECU if he got the CL-S 6spd ECU?? :S

Me and my dad just did a swap from a wrecked 1993 300zx Twin Turbo a few years back, nothing else really.

As for everyone else, joe did get that cl-s 6 speed ecu, but he's working on a harness that'll allow you guys to bolt on a 6-speed tranny without doing anything else to your current engines. That is what I meant to say. he's been asking around on and working with a honda tech that goes to USF to make a harness that'll work for you guys. this way, instead of changing parts here and there, just a harness with switches built in would do the work for you. Here's what I mean. he's going to try to do something like this guy richie is doing:

Half the guys that did a swap on there kept their old engines, but still added the cl-s 6 tranny to it without any problems after tricking their stock ecus. Once again, I don't know how it works, but maybe someone else can chime in on this.

Welcome to the forums! I was wondering what happened to Joe, he's been gone for a while and everyone is still dying to see how his swap went. To load videos, you would have to upload them to a free hosting site i.e. Photobucket and then just make a link to them or embed it in the thread.

also, i was reading that thread on the site about the accord v6 owners putting in the 6 spds. does anyone know if you can put the 6 spd into the TL-P without putting in the TL-S motor as well?

There's a couple AV6's that kept their original motors and just bolted on the 6-speed, it's just a matter of tricking the ecu. Just wait for joe to get back and he'll be able to tell you all about it

edit by mod Ron A: The website doesn't show up because the computer is programmed to delete the applicable part of the link because the admins do not allow references to that site. If you have to try and fool the computer into accepting the link, then there must be a reason for that, so don't do it. I deleted the attempt to link in your other post also.

go to v6 performance.net and then under the 6TH GENERATION AV6 category, look for a thread saying "6 Speed Obsession (Swap info and harness)" I don't know how to post links here so this is the best I could do.

Half the guys that did a swap on there kept their old engines, but still added the cl-s 6 tranny to it without any problems after tricking their stock ecus. Once again, I don't know how it works, but maybe someone else can chime in on this.

Here's another picture to be posted...

It's not finished, but we were test fitting his old CAI with the type-s engine... fits no problem. I spray painted the cover It's not done yet though.

The metal plate on top that was sprayed a little red will actually be black instead of silver.

I'm sending out joe's sensors from his 6-speed tranny over to richie to start rigging up a new harness for you guys. He told me it could take a bit since they'll be sent back and forth, but in the end, there'll be no need for expensive sensors and pulleys

By the way, why can't I post this in the original thread? it seems closed?

You'd be surprised, they're all over
