6 Disk In-dash For 2000

Can you install the current 6 disc in-dash cd player from a 2002 into a 2000? is it a straight install? or some modifications needed?

thanks

Its ALMOST a stright swap, but from what ive heard you also need to replace the CD holder with the new style stationary holder, i guess the 6 disc-ers are a little deeper, and they need that little extra room.

It does read CD-R

It replaces the 99-01 stock radio...u take out the old one and pop in the new one. U put the CDs indash.

I am interested. Let me know when you are ready and we can make a deal.

Yes I know for a fact it does. The radio in my 99 hates burnt CD's. I know 3 people who have the 6 disc radio, and no problems whatsoever!

well it looks like it's NOT a direct installation. I talked to someone from Acura and he said the following:

"in the 6 disc in-dash, you have to also purchase the amplifiers, because the disc changer takes the place of the amplifier in the stock unit. plus, you have to purchase the wiring harness to the amps I believe"

One slot...you feed the CDs in one after another.
Mine works great with CDRs. Any brand....low media though, 16x or less and burned at 4x. (Slow and steady is the keyword)

If you bought the factory headunit from the dealer, you would probably pay just as much as an aftermarket unit with a screen. Those things are expensive!
