Post 6 Disc-changer in TL-S

Congrats to the lucky few who have the TL-S's. Could one of you verify if the disc-changer in the 2002 TL/TL-S plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs? Also Honda is rumored to have installed satellite-radio reception capabilities in its brand-new models, could somebody verify this for me, either from the brochure or the owner's manual. Thanks in advance!

Can't wait to get my own TL-S!

thanks for the idea - even though it does not really matter, but I'll take a CDRW to my testdrive of the TL-S.

I've been burnin' all my discs off Napster for months now -- CD-Rs workin' fine in my '02 TL-S. No probs whatsoever with fast forwarding or anything!

Haven't found an RW in my stacks to try out.. i'll let ya know if i do!

PeterUbers, Thanks for your response. Somebody told me the changer plays CD-R's but not CD-RW's. Also have been hearing conflicting reports about the satellite radio receptions from XMSR and Sirius (somewhere between 50-100 commercial-free music channels for $10/month).

Just trying to figure out if someone has the inside scoop on the sat. radio stuff.

XDriver, Any luck trying the CD-RW during the test-drive?

I know it's not a big deal, but I have tons of CD-RWs and it's a pain in the a$$ to convert all of them to CD-R's just to play them in ur car. I have a Pioneer deck that plays anything u feed it, so I guess that made me lazy!

It'll play CDR's, but not CDRW's.

I haven't. I'm waiting until the summer, then when the demo is being driven by the owner I'll borrow it for a week and do my own review then.

Yeah, my brother is Dr. Dre! He's gonna get all of you!

CDRs are sooo cheap these days.. IMO, I think the trouble of taking your $2.00 rewriteable to make a CD is pretty silly. I use them only for backing up data. But.. if you already have lots of CD-RW as music CDs then I can see your point.

but a CD-Changer is probably worth the investment if you didn't have one built in.

hmm... I knowm most of the new cars with Cd players can play CD-R, but not CD-RW. If it does, I believe the salesmen would emphasize its unique features. Such as.... the upcoming Mazda "MP3"... as you guess from the name, you know what type of songs the system can handle...
But since black CD-Rs are so cheap in price these days, it doesn't really matter to record all the songs on them right? And don't forget, our Bose in TL-S can now handle 6 CDs all at once in the dash! <grin>

Thanks for the responses guys, I better start converting my CD-RWs to CD-R's b4 I get my TL-S next year!

Does anybody have nay info about the sat. radio capabilites. If it does come with the sat. capabilities, screw the CD's, we have somewhere b/w 50-100 commercial-free music to choose from! Some Pioneer and Kenwood decks have this feature built in already and some of the recent Pioneer's can be updated (I'm guessing some kind of add-on module?).

Thanks again.
