Question 6 Color Glo-guages

I just purchased the 6 color glo-guages from procarparts. I know many of you have installed guages but has anyone tried these? I'm curious what results people have had with this brand due to all the problems I've read about with installing new guages. I thought being an electrician/instrument technician by trade would make this install easier, but the problems I've heard about seem to be more with the mechanics of the guages, i.e., not fitting correctly, needles coming in contact with guage, etc...

I don't suppose Acura would be willing to install these for me.

I am still up in the air about this Mod. Working with instruments can cause serious damage...I may have some guages for sale, lol.

I'd suggest to keep the gauges. They do look really nice once installed. The hard parts are 1) take out the dash and 2) avoid needle clearance issues. If you do some seaching around you'll find lots of info on how to install them. I'm glad I did this mod

Tate, this is my one question for you. Do your guages work? If they do work, how many times did you have to take your dash apart and put it back together.

...hmmm...maybe I will do the guages after all.

Of course the gauges work I took apart my dash twice:

1st time, install the gauges
2nd time, fix the needle clearance problem

If I did the needles correctly, I'd not need to do it the 2nd time. I also took longer to do because I was doing LED conversion at the same time

Tatewaki,

In order to correct the needle problem did you shave off part of the needle with a razor? Twice is pretty good, but if I can do it in one shot, I'll be happier!

I didn't use the razor method. I used a folk, insert the teeth below the needle center and pry it upwards just a bit. Be careful not to pry it out completely. You just want them a bit further away from the gauge face. You can pry them up an extra 1/4" to clear the surface and still make contact with the motor
