50HP for $5000

I'm getting worried reading that the Comptech S/C will be only pushing 50HP at the wheels for a small $5000 premium. $100 a horse is allot of cash in my book. Makes headers look like a straight bargain.

I don't know about HP, but I heard it was more like $3,000 to $3,500.

At some point, all the additional power is going to lead to some nasty torque steer. Acura has done a great job eliminating it from the its cars, but they can't overcome the laws of physics.

50HP?

I thought Comptech averaged around 40% gains? So that theoretically should have put us at 90 hp gain, almost double the 50 hp? i think they should design a s/c specifically for TL and not just use accords. I'm thinking cheap and effective when needed best way is nitrous oxide. right now the search is on for rims and then otherwise appearance mods. hopefully a worthwile forced air induction system will be out by then, i might reconsider then.

Ya know, even if it is a 50HP boost only (and I agree, 5k is a rip), but think about it...that puts us at 310HP...which I could care less about once you are hitting up above 260HP anyway...what I want to know is will it put our torque up past the 250 marker?
You all remember when the Camaro's were at 275HP with the same engine as the Corvette? They were pretty ****ing quick cars? Who are we to ***** about the SC getting us to 310HP? Especially if it pumps our torque up over the 250 marker? Our car would would wreck a stock 540.
Bottom line is if you want a 10 second 1/4 mile, don't bye a sedan, get a RSX and pump it up. If you want a sedan that kicks ass and is comfortable, get a 540 or a TL with the SC. I'll admitt the Audi A6 2.7T is way sweater in performance and handling, but Acura's and(and I hate admitting this cause I just hate BMW) BMW's are built around a driver...Audi's and Mercedes and others just build a car and put the driver in it.

That's just my 3 cents

Muahaha, the fewer of you that buy it means the less time I will have to wait on backorder to get mine.

Come on people, its a good thing none of you guys were friends with Christopher Columbus or we'd still all be living in England cuz we wouldn't want to sail off the edge of the world.

Let think positive like... Oh my, what am I'm gonna do when comptech releases an 8psi pulley... I just might have to buy some slicks for the track!
