I was driving today and all of a sudden the SRS light comes on and stays on. I know I'm gonna have to check the owners manual for this one but has anyone else ever had that problem and if so how did you resolve it
My SRS light is on now too, but that's because I was playing around with the wires under the dash trying to tap into the factory alarm system. I think I'll need to take it to the dealers to get it reset.
I've read in other posts that other causes of the SRS light activating may be faulty seat belt sensors, passenger seat sensors, or temporary loss of power to any of the SRS modules. Of course, the SRS light could signify real problems with any of the four airbags in the car too, so may as well get it checked out.
p.s.: if you really wanted to reset it yourself, there's a procedure on grounding one of the pins of one of the connectors under the dash, but I'd prefer to let the dealer do that for me.
