Here's a pic to give an idea... sorry the pic isn't great, the lighting was that good as it was getting dark. Once the sun pops back out here in NY I'll take some pics at work....my lot has some good lighting during the day

What kind of question is that? The Tip does nothing for performance, its just for looks, and yet adds no added noise. There are such things as cosmetic modifications.
The comptech exhaust (Axle back, I should say mufflers not exhaust system) adds noise, cost about $600 Vrs $50 per tip, and adds about as much perfromance as the tips.....that would be, nothing noticable in power gains.
That is why I was looking from some slightly aggresive, stainless tips, and can put the $600 in something else, like springs, intake, and so forth.

Go with the smaller tips. The larger the tips, the more noticable the tiny OEM tail pipes are. Also, go with the longer tips, no slant cut, to hide the tiny OEM tail pipes. Can you tell I don't like the tiny OEM tail pipes?

I was checking out the site and found a lot of tips, but I don't know which ones fit the TLS. I am interested in the 4" tip.. hehe!!! Which one are you planning to get?? Let me know. Thanks!

Think I'm going with 3" angle cut. Most of them will fit. The stock tips are also about 6" long, but you weld them on out a little forther on the stock pipe (after you take the crome off) it you want it flush or a little extended from the bumper.

I just got some 3 1/2" stainless steel tips for about $20.00 each. I think that they look perfect. I will try to take some pictures for you guys. May take a while because I do not have a digital camera.

Come to think about it....4 inches is HUGE! THe CAI piping is 3 inches, and I'm already having doubts trying to imagine how corny that would look (being able to stick your fist in there and all).

I blew off the IS300 because of the boy racer looks of the tailpipe and the overuse of white in the taillights (there were other issues also, of course ) . As an adult of 40, instead of getting looks of "cool car", it'd be more like, "what's wrong with that guy?'

Crap. Call me rice then. I just came back from 2 Kragen Auto Parts store (a good way to spend my lunch hour) and bought me some 3x9 inch stainless steel tail pipes. Funny, each store only carried 1 pipe each and all together they both costed $54 (total including tax). After carefull measurement, I found out that the pipes really are 3.25 inch, and the stock pipes are 2 without the OEM tips. For anyone interested in getting chrome tips, I suggest getting long ones. The stock OEM tips are 5 inches long, and the 9 inch ones I got goes all the way back to the muffler and is flush with the back of the body kit completely covering the original pipes. For those who think tips are nothing more than just cosmetic, I found one online that acually increases fuel efficiency by around 10%. It works by having some sort of valve in the tip that closes during idle keeping in the back pressure, and opens up during WOT. It's pretty steep (around 80 bucks each I think), but it doesnt really add anything to the tips original dimentions (2.5 inches out).

Just install my tips tonight! I have to thank JeffTL and BigMan's advice. I went to Pepboys yesterday and bought the last pair of 3" exhaust tips. They are longer than OEM and is a little bigger. Pretty much look exactly like Jeff's car. For less than 50 bucks, I think it was a good mod since comptech exhaust cost way too much.
