I took my 02 TL-S in for an oil change at Acura 101 in Calabasas on Friday, and I told them to take a look at my tranny while they were at it because it had been shifting hard but not slipping. An hour later I'm informed that it's time for another tranny, my third. My second tranny didn't last very long, about 8 months and 6,000 miles or so. So now at 44,000 miles I'm on my third. I'm not even angry anymore afterall they replace it for free, I love the TL-S but it's still a bummer and a major pain. I just hope I get my car back by the end of this week.

Yeah but fsttyms1, whats up with the 6k miles on the 2nd tranny? I thought they were using the smooth polished clutch plates nowadays on the rebuilds?

everytime i get an oil change at the dealership.. i tell them to check out my transmisson.. 2/3 times i had to replace it

 

welcome to the 3 tranny club...Soon to be promoted to the 4th tranny then to the 5th tranny club. Is there anyone else out there in the 5th tranny club? I'm not only the president, but I'm also a memeber

 

there was no gaurentee that that one wasnt sitting around with old er parts in it, and there is no gaurentee that the new ones with the different parts will solve the problem. (just that they know what it is and have tried different parts)
